ZAGRO Bahn- und Baumaschinen: Shunter that can operate
on rails or as a road-rail vehicle
The ZAGRO E-MAXI XXL is a battery or hybrid powered shunter and
has been designed for use on rails or as a road-rail vehicle on exposed
or flush rail tracks with a gauge of between 1,000 and 1,668
millimetres. It can shunt loads of around 1,500 tonnes on the level.
It has an infinitely variable drive system operating
through four propulsion units of 80 volts/15 kilowatts
each. It is steered using all four drive motors.
With all-wheel steering this vehicle can turn in its
own length. For use on the road it has a hydraulic
suspension. To convert to the rails the entire chassis
is lowered. With its low centre of gravity and
compact track layout it is well protected against
derailment. At the press of a button the gauge can
be rapidly changed from the normal width of 1,435
millimetres to a 1,520 or 1,668 millimetre broad gauge. Excluding buffers
the ZAGRO E-MAXI XXL has a length of some 6,370 millimetres
and can attain speeds of 10 kph on rails and 25 kph on the road.
ZELISKO: Smart mounting panel
The increasing trend in ticket printers and on-board computers
used in public transport is for all-in-one solutions. This concept,
in combination with the new smart mounting panel from Austrian
manufacturer Zelisko reduces to a minimum the amount of cabling
required while at the same time maximising the scope of available
functions. Despite the small dimensions of the panel the designers
have been able to include the entire communication sub-assembly
(UMTS/GPS) together with the emergency switch, electro-acoustic
installation and vehicle data storage system. Even when the
Zelisko FSD5plus on-board computer is not in operation or when
it has been removed, an emergency call system can still be set up
using the switch on the side, provided that a Zelisko mounting panel
is available. As a result the operator’s vehicles become “travelling
emergency call boxes”, thereby improving the safety of public
transport. An alarm can also be activated by means of a foot
switch in the event of a sudden assault on the personnel.
