Vossloh Rail Services: High speed grinding
and customised milling solution
With high speed grinding, known by the acronym HSG, Vossloh Rail
Services is presenting a new rail grinding method in the display on
the open air grounds at InnoTrans. This technology reduces or eliminates
existing ripples or longitudinal undulations in rails. The noise
produced by trains is largely a result of ripples in the surface of the
rails and HSG significantly reduces these noise levels. High speed
grinding has been proved to meet the requirements of EN ISO 3095
and TSI Noise. Also making its world debut in Hall 26 is a new milling
device from this exhibitor, which provides a smooth rail surface
without pitting. The customised, modular milling solution is notable
for the speed at which it operates and its ability to remove more material
with each stage of the operation than other existing rail milling
methods. It also produces a significantly better rail surface in
terms of residual ripples and the cross-section.
VUZ: Tests for vehicles and components
The Czech company VUZ can provide its customers with highly
modern facilities at its testing centre in Velim, details of which are
available at InnoTrans 2012. This exhibitor intends to continue to
develop and expand its portfolio of services. Vehicles and individual
components can be tested at this facility, which includes approved
test laboratories capable of conducting traction, braking,
hygiene and electronic testing. Dynamic and load testing can also
be carried out on vehicles and their components. Recognised and
approved specialists are responsible for assessing that all products
conform to the relevant technical specifications. This applies
both to compatibility and verification of subsystems with regard
to technical compatibility specifications. The accreditation
sector focuses on infrastructure, energy, control commands, signals
and rail vehicles.
