Vision Systems:<br />
A combination of various applications<br />
Pro4Rail from Vision Systems is an embedded or stationary system<br />
that combines safety applications, monitoring of servicing (ProLink)<br />
and passenger comfort (ProConnect). Based on a PC running Windows,<br />
with a Linux connecting platform, Pro4Rail offers flexible and<br />
open architecture for linking various applications. ProLink is the application<br />
that provides train operators with real time video monitoring<br />
and data transfer facilities. ProConnect is the solution that provides<br />
passengers with multimedia services, without requiring the complete<br />
overhaul of the carriage interior or the installation of expensive entertainment<br />
systems. In addition Vision Systems is using the fair to present<br />
its polarisation technology for protection against sunlight. Nuance<br />
is a product that enables users to immediately and uniformly<br />
control the light and heat entering the passenger compartment. This<br />
smart form of protection against sunlight is automatically adjustable<br />
to any kind of light transmission from bright to dark.<br />

VNIIZHT: Test bench for research<br />
and certification purposes<br />
This Russian exhibitor is using <strong>InnoTrans</strong> 2012 to provide details about<br />
its new test bench, which has been developed by UPEC in collaboration<br />
with JSC VNIIZHT. The relevant control and loading systems<br />
have been supplied by Beckhoff and Blumenbecker. The test bench<br />
is intended for research purposes and for acceptance and certification<br />
testing of rail vehicle axle bearings operating at speeds of up<br />
to 300 km/h and for freight cars with a radial load of up to 25 tonnes<br />
and an axial load of up to ten tonnes per axle. The test bench has<br />
been designed for conducting tests of bearings and axle bearings<br />
as well as for determining the gamma percentile time until breakdown.<br />
Compared with accelerated investigations under the conditions<br />
found on specialised testing sections with a loop, use of the<br />
test bench facilities can lead to a four-fold reduction in the duration<br />
of the test. VNIIZHT is also presenting other new solutions from its<br />
extensive portfolio at the fair.<br />
