Vision Systems:
A combination of various applications
Pro4Rail from Vision Systems is an embedded or stationary system
that combines safety applications, monitoring of servicing (ProLink)
and passenger comfort (ProConnect). Based on a PC running Windows,
with a Linux connecting platform, Pro4Rail offers flexible and
open architecture for linking various applications. ProLink is the application
that provides train operators with real time video monitoring
and data transfer facilities. ProConnect is the solution that provides
passengers with multimedia services, without requiring the complete
overhaul of the carriage interior or the installation of expensive entertainment
systems. In addition Vision Systems is using the fair to present
its polarisation technology for protection against sunlight. Nuance
is a product that enables users to immediately and uniformly
control the light and heat entering the passenger compartment. This
smart form of protection against sunlight is automatically adjustable
to any kind of light transmission from bright to dark.

VNIIZHT: Test bench for research
and certification purposes
This Russian exhibitor is using InnoTrans 2012 to provide details about
its new test bench, which has been developed by UPEC in collaboration
with JSC VNIIZHT. The relevant control and loading systems
have been supplied by Beckhoff and Blumenbecker. The test bench
is intended for research purposes and for acceptance and certification
testing of rail vehicle axle bearings operating at speeds of up
to 300 km/h and for freight cars with a radial load of up to 25 tonnes
and an axial load of up to ten tonnes per axle. The test bench has
been designed for conducting tests of bearings and axle bearings
as well as for determining the gamma percentile time until breakdown.
Compared with accelerated investigations under the conditions
found on specialised testing sections with a loop, use of the
test bench facilities can lead to a four-fold reduction in the duration
of the test. VNIIZHT is also presenting other new solutions from its
extensive portfolio at the fair.
