Rail vehicles and services for urban mobility
The display by Siemens at the world’s largest transport technology
fair InnoTrans 2012 is dominated by efficient mobility that helps to
enhance the competitiveness of cities and regions and improves the
quality of life. Poland’s capital has ordered new underground trains
from Siemens. Three cars that are on show for the first time at the
fair are based on the Inspiro metro platform. Also making its debut is
a mock-up of the new Avenio generation of trams, which will be going
into service in The Hague. This exhibitor has developed the Vectron
locomotive type as a future-proof platform concept for international
freight, regional and intercity services. One of the main advantages
of this locomotive is its flexibility. Siemens is presenting three new
a diesel shunter concept and a dual traction solution. Also
