NORIS: Robust protective tube with rotatable sensors
The sensor technology on gearboxes and motors and installed underfloor
is exposed to very demanding conditions. The cables in particular
often form a weak point. In 2010 NORIS first displayed an unusual
protective tube designed for use under the most demanding
conditions. At the time it was still in the experimental stage, but NO-
RIS is now presenting a production-ready version of this system. It
has been installed in many applications and because it is so resistant
to vibration, shock, temperature extremes or the impact of stones or
ice, it is increasingly replacing the corrugated tubing that has been
in use until now. It can be used to protect the cables connecting individual
rev counters and temperature sensors as well as entire, combined
sensor systems. Each group of sensors is individually adapted
to the surrounding area. All sensors are mounted in such a way that
they can be rotated by 360 degrees, thereby enabling the water- and
pressure-tight cable loom to be adapted to the individual surrounding
conditions when it is being installed, and ensuring that it is free
from any torsional stresses.
OEM Technology Solutions: Interface
for the programmable controller for the PC3 series
The web-teso software module allows users of the PC3 Series programmable
controller to create their own powerful and intuitive
web pages. These web pages reside within the PC3 controller and
can be served to any secure computer worldwide – providing the
perfect platform for railway automation, condition monitoring, datalogging,
and maintenance projects. The programmable, web-based
web-teso interface provides an easy- to-use software development
module for real time monitoring and control of the pages, as well
as of trends, events, data-logs, direct-to-disk recording and all PC3
configuration services. The web-teso interface can change languages
with a single mouse-click and, when combined with the global
reach of today’s international communications services, the PC3
Controller, configured with web-teso, provides an international automated
platform for the international railway industry.
