Robust fuel gauge
The LM1.2 fuel gauge has been designed mainly for use in the tanks
of road vehicles. This device enables continuous readings to be made
of the levels of diesel, biodiesel or oil. This capacitive gauge can also
be used in stationary tanks, storage containers and pools. On vehicles
it is installed vertically in the upper part of the tank by tightening
the flange for the measuring transducer in the 30 millimetre diameter
tank opening. This method of attachment to the tank complies with
the SAE5 industrial standard. Because it does not have any moving
parts and is easy to install this device is very robust. When it is being
installed its length can also be reduced. Other advantages include the
very precise measuring accuracy, taking into account the dielectric
properties of the medium in which it is being used, and the possibility
of connecting the LM1.2 to a network for multiple tank solutions.

Metawell:
Extremely strict weight specifications
At the beginning of 2011 this exhibitor was awarded a contract by
Siemens to supply major components for fitting out the interiors of
the RZD sleeper car. Metawell ® aluminium sandwich panels will
be used for the approx 20 m long by 2.50 m high longitudinal partitions
and the ten compartment doors. The lightweight construction
of these panels enables the extremely strict weight specifications to
be complied with. Other major items features of the contract were
the need to adhere to Russian and European fire safety regulations
and the use of modern and ecologically sustainable materials. Another
notable characteristic of the Metawell ® panels is their suitability
for the application of powder coatings. This produces a more
even surface with greater resistance to scratching and to cleaning
agents. The exhibitor installs all the components prior to delivery
and is consequently able to supply a ready-to-install system. This
significantly reduces assembly times at the Siemens plant in Vienna.
