L Lengiprotrans: Processing geological data for engineering purposes The software systems being exhibited at InnoTrans 2012 by the Russian company Lengiprotrans are an in-house development. This applies in particular to a solution for designing transport systems and to an integrated information system for processing geological data with an engineering relevance. These solutions are already being used by other planning firms on projects for the Russian rail industry. This exhibitor is also participating in the expansion of Russian Railways. Lengiprotrans solutions are being used, for example, as the basis for a platform for evaluating modern innovative offers, with the aim of boosting the efficiency of the Russian rail company RZD. The integrated management system also includes certification with regard to quality, ecology, health and safety at the workplace – ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007. In 2011 Lengiprotrans was awarded the international Golden Chariot prize in the transport sector and has become acknowledged as the market leader in the construction of transport infrastructure in Russia. This new concept comprises a matrix of individual low power chip LEDs attached to a rear panel. On the front of the LEDs there is a conventional glass or polycarbonate light diffuser. The matrix can be configured to match the intensity of the lighting provided by fluorescent lamps. The use of high perfor- mance LEDs that can be driven by a very low power source avoids any “patchiness” in the light that is emitted, which can be a problem when a smaller number of high performance LEDs are used. LumiMatrix uses extremely efficient LEDs from a leading manufacturer in order to achieve a high colour rendering index and to accurately control the colour temperature. LumiMatrix can be used in any form or size, as a simple printed board or full luminaire. L LSG Sky Chefs: Innovative on-board service concepts This year LSG Sky Chefs is taking part in InnoTrans for the first time in its 70-year history. This well-known European travel caterer believes that some excellent opportunities exist in the rail sector. Onboard service concepts that are tailored to the needs of train operators, beginning before passengers board the train and extending for the whole duration of the journey right up to the destination, ensure that every stage of the journey is enjoyable. LSG Sky Chefs has many decades of experience in providing inflight services and is represented around the world. This supplier is convinced that train operators can benefit just as much from its wide-ranging knowledge about culinary trends and equipment design and from the additional sales channels and sales possibilities offered by these services on board trains. The air flow and volume can be individually configured and adapted to the differing requirements of areas such as passenger compartments, entry areas, restaurants or drivers’ cabs. With their highly inductive combination of individual jets in the immediate vicinity of the outlet they guarantee a steady flow of air accompanied by a high degree of thermal comfort with rapid cooling. LDB louvres operate very quietly and can also be used where room height is restricted. Even if the incoming air is at a low temperature condensation is unlikely to form. The Type LDB 12/8, which has already proved its effectiveness, has highly inductive outlets made of aluminium combined with flame-proof plastic. A new product being displayed by LTG at the fair is the vandal-proof, non-inflammable LDB 12/M LTG System clean ® made entirely of metal.
