I.Log Iniziative Logistiche: Fully automated container
trans-shipment underneath overhead power lines
METROCARGO enables containers, including exchangeable containers,
to be trans-shipped horizontally underneath overhead power
lines. The METROCARGO unit is set up parallel with the track and
enables loading and unloading to be undertaken in a single process
along the entire length of a train and without requiring the train to
be split. The fully automated loading process takes about three minutes
for each unit. This means that an entire freight train can be
unloaded and reloaded in less than 40 minutes. METROCARGO requires
no modification of the units being loaded or of the means of
transport being used, and is fully compatible with other systems. A
single terminal equipped with METROCARGO technology means that
a stop-over can be set up, allowing the cost-effective and time-saving
trans-shipment even of individual transport units, thus becoming
a hub in a network with numerous branches. The exhibitor’s
declared aim is to transfer a significant amount of freight from roads
onto rails using METROCARGO.
ISOFLEX:
Moniflex insulation – even more environmental friendly
Following further development work Moniflex insulation is now
even more environmental friendly. The raw material used is a renewable,
natural cellulose product. All the waste materials generated
during the production of the foil and of Moniflex insulation
can be recycled. Surplus material can be composted or incinerated
without producing any harmful side effects. All the substances
used in the Moniflex formulation are registered with or approved
by REACH. At only 13 kg/m 3 volume weight, Moniflex is the lightest
insulation material that is currently available, but it also offers
excellent thermal and acoustic properties. No degeneration
or loss of insulation capacity has been observed during the refurbishment
of 25-30 year old coaches. Despite the stresses imposed
by a coach in motion, the rigidity of Moniflex and its method
of installation ensure that it does not become compacted, a feature
of fibrous materials which impacts adversely on the insulation
on areas of the vehicle sides.
