Indicator markings for trains and track
IB&T GmbH is presenting its new software for use in the planning of
track installations at InnoTrans 2012: indicator markings for trains and
track in accordance with the DBAG Directive 800.0110. Indicator lines
are required for local transport track layout. Ideally
camber and inclines are measured according to the
actual speed travelled. The speed-distance diagram
ensures that cambers are not too excessive and inclines
are not too long ahead of and following stopping
points. If this is not the case structural problems can
arise which have to be dealt with more frequently
than at other sections of the track. A track layout
prepared in accordance with speed indicator markings
therefore saves money. The software is particularly
effective in connection with the CARD/1 module
dynamic test. Once radii, cambers and inclines
have been defined with the aid of the indicator lines, the module examines
whether all the limiting values have been adhered to. This enables
planners to arrive at a successful result more quickly and more reliably.

IBC Wälzlager: Customised linear solutions
Further refinements to linear and telescopic-linear roller bearings
are being displayed by IBC Wälzlager GmbH at InnoTrans 2012. They
provide users with technically optimised solutions, for example for
door systems, battery boxes and access steps. The new systems
are mounted on carriages and can extend over longer distances of
several metres. Equipped with wipers and longitudinally arranged
sealing lips, these carriages ensure reliable and continuous operation
even in heavily contaminated areas. Further improvements have
been made to the running qualities and speed. The various types of
mounting rails in the form of fixed/floating bearings have the advantage
of compensating for angular misalignment and permit axial relocatability
within certain limits. The refinements that have been made
to the telescopic linear roller bearings are evident in such characteristics
as flexural rigidity, smooth running and robustness. Heavy
loads of several hundred kilograms can be raised by up to two metres
without any significant bending of the telescopic guides.
