G GANTREX S.A.: RailLok crane rail clamps with double wedge design GANTREX ® has launched a new generation of weldable crane rail clamps and elastic rail pads. The new products feature some outstanding design elements to meet the requirements imposed on today’s rails and conveyor systems. One of the main characteristics of the RailLok range of welded clamps is its new “Double Wedge” design. This ensures simple and secure assembly and an effective contact between the rail clamp and the rail foot. The innovative shape of the new rail clamps means they can be rapidly installed by avoiding two major stages in the process. Firstly the upper part of the clamp no longer has to be hammered into place, and secondly there is no longer any need to use a torque wrench. RailLok clamps are also very compact, with the result that rails can also be installed on narrow crane track supports or base plates, which also reduces costs. Among them are a completely new track layout module, GEOPAC- GRADIENTE. During the planning of rail systems it not only supports the planning of the height of an axis but also displays the height and position of gradients of parallel or intersecting axes. In addition the interface module GEOPAC-DXF has been improved to provide a loss-free exchange of data and an innovative LandXML interface has been created for a realistic exchange of the full range of track layout data between GEOPAC and other software and measuring equipment. The new plug-in module allows the highly automated generation of digital plug-in data and indexes of fixed points along the track. In addition the envelope method now also supports 100 per cent low floor, multi-articulated vehicles with suspended low-floor centre sections. G Getzner Werkstoffe: Reducing maintenance costs in local public transport The Austrian company Getzner Werkstoffe has developed two new systems which can be seen at InnoTrans 2012: Embedded Rail und the XT mass-spring system. Getzner Embedded Rail is an anti-vibration system for local transport as well as an ideal solution for insulating stray current. The improved anti-vibration system with tried and tested Sylodyn ® components provides equal protection for tracks and roads, thereby reducing maintenance costs. Installing this system provides greater passenger comfort, and the reduction in vibration and noise is also welcomed by those adjacent to the track. Standing water adversely impacts on the effectiveness of a mass-spring system. With its XT mass-spring system Getzner has now developed a solution that also functions reliably over a long period of time, even in water, or where drainage is ineffective or even completely absent, as well as when exposed to severe climatic conditions. This long term system reduces life cycle costs and offers highly effective protection against noise and vibration for trackside residents and buildings. This is a very caustic and toxic fluid and its transport is subject to strict requirements analogous to the specifications of RID2011 with regard to the transport of gases in liquid form. The wagon is fitted with special DN40 PN25 Phoenix valves, complying with the requirements of EU Directive 2010/35, a high resistance cap with a special interlocking device, tank heads with a minimum thick- ness of 12 mm throughout the complete period of operation, and IP400AX, AXTONE buffers complying with the requirements of RID 2011 TE22. The tank wagon also undergoes stress relief heat treatment following assembly in order to remove welding stresses. The design meets the requirements of the TSI Wagon and EN Series 12561 standards.
