Modern ecological fluorescent tubes for retrofitting
In recent years the etalux ® lighting system has proved its effectiveness
when T5 fluorescent tubes are retrofitted. With its latest innovation
e-Ressource is providing this efficient form of energy saving
not only for single and double tubes but also for emergency lighting
or for 60 x 60 cm grid lights. The existing T8 lamps are being replaced
by more efficient T5 lamps, fitted with a high quality electronic ballast.
These ballasts can be installed in existing lamp holders or grids. The
manufacturer claims that the etalux ® flex system provides an instant
reduction of around 50 per cent in electricity consumption. The system
offers maximum flexibility, and a variety of fluorescent tubes can
be used, in 14 watt standard lights or with 13 watt eco-lamps. Sustainability,
especially with regard to maintenance, is promoted by the
use of AuraLight longlife lamps, which have an average life of 68,000
hours. The highest energy efficiency category, A1A, is guaranteed by
etalux ® , which is available in a version with a dimmable ballast, and
a choice of lengths, either 150 or 120 centimetres.

EAO: Door-opening buttons with extra-large area
EAO has made its new series 57 door opener buttons easier to operate
by increasing the diameter of the contact area to 74 millimetres,
making them much more accessible to people with restricted
mobility. The touchpads comprise illuminated rings and a symbol
and can be operated just as well when wearing gloves, with walking
aids or even by an elbow. A bright green illuminated ring indicates
that the door is operational and also helps passengers with restricted
visibility to find the touchpad. A second, inner, red illuminated
ring responds, together with the prominent tactile acknowledgment,
when the button is pressed. A built-in device also produces a sound
for the benefit of blind passengers. Symbols such as “door open”
or “baby carriage” are also designed to be touched in accordance
with TSI PRM and can also be illuminated to make them more easily
identifiable. The assembly ring is designed to facilitate the work of
railway and door manufacturers.
