Devismes: Tactile closure systems in trains
for barrier-free travel
The opening and closing systems from Devismes have been developed
for passengers with impaired vision and reduced mobility. Toilet
doors open at just a light press of a button and can be locked
from inside. A clear visual indicator also shows the visually impaired
when a toilet is occupied. The tactile closure system has been developed
in partnership with the French rail company SNCF and the
ESIEE engineering college in Amiens. Two versions of the closure
systems have been produced under this programme: a mechanical
system for swing doors and an electronic system for motorised sliding
doors. This technology carries the Kompetenzzentrum I-Trans
label. Devismes has obtained AQF2, ISO 9001 and EN 15085 certification.
The closure system, which has been developed in France,
complies with all European standards for access systems. It can be
seen by professionals from all over the world for the first time at InnoTrans
2012 in Hall 3.2.

Dolphin Manufacturing:
Heat exchangers with a long working life
The Dolphin Group from the United Arab Emirates is presenting its latest
developments at InnoTrans 2012. The new CuproBraze heat exchangers
are extremely rugged and long-lasting, and the materials
used in their manufacture are very fatigue-resistant. Moreover these
heat exchangers are resistant to indoor and outdoor corrosion, a factor
that contributes to their long working life, especially in humid, polluted
or coastal areas. If defects occur the heat exchangers can be
repaired on-site by soft soldering. As a consequence downtimes are
kept to a minimum, which is vitally important in the rail transport sector.
The manufacturing process for CuproBraze uses special heat-resistant
copper and brass alloys which are both strong and conductive,
and is an extremely eco-friendly method of producing highly efficient
radiators, intercoolers and oil coolers as well as entire cooling systems.
At the heart of the CuproBraze product range is the Sellacan
soldering oven, where the cores for the heat exchangers are soldered
in a nitrogen-rich atmosphere.
