CENTRALP:
Economical and compact interface
A new man-machine interface (MMI), the E-Vision, is being exhibited
by CENTRALP for the first time at InnoTrans 2012. It has been financed
by in-house research and development funding. The French
exhibitor draws attention to the simplified design and conformity with
all common railway standards and in particular to the excellent ratio
of price to performance and the outstanding quality. This new development
is 25 per cent cheaper than the average MMI currently
available on the market. The E-Vision has been designed to restrict
the number of mechanical parts to a minimum. Instead of the average
of 10 to 15 parts in a standard interface of this kind it comprises
just four. The wire-less plug-in connectors are attached directly
to the circuit board. Other advantages of this new MMI include its
low weight and small dimensions, giving it just half the thickness of
comparable models.
Clearsy:
Safety on platforms
Line 1 on the Paris metro is being automated and as part of this process
automatic doors are being installed on all platforms. Before the
doors close it is vital to ensure that no one is trapped in the gap between
the train and the platform. Clearsy is responsible for the design
and installation of the DIL system. This ensures that, should an accident
occur in this gap, trains are prevented from departing and the
necessary information is passed on to the control centre. The DIL system
monitors 18 hazardous gaps at stations with the relevant curves.
GAPS is an on-board electronic system for the Regiolis trains made by
Alstom. It measures the gap between the train and the platform prior
to the installation of the mechanism for closing the gap, and prior to
the granting of authorisation and application of the system. This closure
mechanism comprises a mobile stage that fills the space between
the train and the platform to enable passengers with restricted
mobility to safely enter or leave the train.
