Auson: Compounds offering highly effective
sound insulation
Auson is making use of InnoTrans 2012 to introduce its environmentally
friendly sound insulating compounds to the rail industry. Vibration is
the primary source of annoying sounds; and Noxudol 3100 & 3101 offer
an effective and time saving way of preventing air- and structureborne
noise. The compounds have a well-documented high sound insulating
factor and weigh approximately half as much as traditional
asphalt mats. Two other advantages are their high resistance to abrasion
and their significantly reduced absorption of water. This means
that the material can be used as a combination of sound insulation
and protection against condensation, rust and wear under demanding
conditions. Auson also offers a wide range of rust protection products.
Noxudol 720, for example, is a solvent free, rust preventive wax product
which is manufactured in accordance with customers’ specifications
to provide the required degree of penetration. The material is
drip-free just 30 minutes after application.
Autolift: Easy access to bogies
The bogie lifting system from Austrian company Autolift GmbH can
be installed at ground level next to supported track. The telescopic
construction provides an effective lift of 1,800 mm at installation
depths of just 1,500 mm. Four telescopic underfloor jacks under
the bearing cases raise the bogie so that the wheels can still turn
freely. The use of mobile axle supports and a centrally positioned
underfloor pair of jacks means that entire axles can also be removed
and set down, and the remaining bogie frame and axle can also
be jacked up. The lifting system provides easy access all around
the bogie and underneath it too. Existing, supported track can be
converted in a bogie workshop without requiring major constructional
measures. Early in 2012 this exhibitor installed six of these
bogie lifting systems in a metro depot in Oslo. Longitudinal crossbeams
can be used to include additional applications for tram bogies,
which have a shorter wheelbase.
