PLUS: Travel Time Advisory crucial in
Promoting Smoother and Safe Travel
PLUS urges the public to plan their balik kampongs travel
for Chinese New Year holidays based on its’ Travel Time
Advisory (TTA) which is proven to have contributed to
smoother traffic flow during peak periods in the past.
“The TTA plays a crucial role in helping the public to
plan their journey whereby PLUS expects the traffic on
the North-South Expressway will increase by 25 percent
to 1.5 million vehicles per day during the Chinese New
Year holidays compared to 1.2 million vehicles on normal
days,” said PLUS Managing Director/Chief Executive
Officer, Dato’ Noorizah Hj Abd Hamid.
The TTA consists of recommended staggered travel
times for various destinations from the Klang Valley to
major states and cities in Kedah, Perlis, Penang, Perak,
Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor and Singapore. It is aimed
at distributing traffic and reducing congestion on the
mainline, major toll plazas, rest areas and lay-bys during
peak periods.
“We expect those in the Klang Valley to start leaving for
their kampongs beginning from 29 January to 31 January

Selatan akan meningkat sebanyak 1.5 juta kenderaan
setiap hari berbanding 1.2 juta kenderaan pada hari-hari
biasa.
Justeru itu, PLUS akan mengambil langkah-langkah yang
sewajarnya untuk membantu orang ramai menikmati
perjalanan yang lebih selamat, lancar dan selesa pada
musim cuti yang akan datang.
Di antara langkah-langkah yang akan diambil adalah
mengeluarkan Jadual Cadangan Waktu Perjalanan (TTA)
bagi membantu orang ramai merancang perjalanan
(Wednesday-Friday). Meanwhile, we expect the journey
back to the Klang Valley in staggered starting from 1
February to 9 February.” Noorizah elaborated.
Noorizah was quoted at a media briefing to highlight the
TTA and other preparations that will be taken by PLUS
in coping with the traffic increase at Persada PLUS today.
According to Noorizah, more that 50 percent of the total
highway users during last Chinese New Year holidays
followed the TTA and it has helped to reduce traffic
congestion on the North-South Expressway.
“The high adoption rate of the TTA during the previous
festive seasons helped to promote smoother and safer
travel on the highways. As such, we hope that the public
will continue to give their co-operation in following
the TTA for their balik kampong as well as during their
journey back to the Klang Valley,” Noorizah said.
”We also advise the public to plan their journey and call

traffic update,” Noorizah added.

seperti menambah jumlah kakitangan di plaza-plaza tol,
meningkatkan jumlah rondaan oleh pasukan PLUSRonda,
meletakkan pasukan-pasukan bantuan kecemasan dan
trak tunda di lokasi-lokasi strategik sepanjang lebuh raya
dan lain-lain lagi pada musim perayaan ini.

Only Electronic Toll
Transaction At Kempas And
Perling Toll Plazas
All toll transactions at the Kempas Toll Plaza
(on the North-South Expressway) and the
Perling Toll Plaza (on Linkedua) are conducted
electronically since 11 January 2014.
The implementation of electronic toll transaction at both
toll plazas is a continuation of the same initiative at Linkedua.
It is also part of the company’s strategies to promote faster,
easier and smoother transactions at toll plazas.
As such, PLUS is offering a 10 percent toll rebate to Class
1 vehicle users who pay toll electronically via PLUSMiles,
Touch ‘n Go cards or SmartTAG at the Kempas and Perling
toll plazas for 3 months beginning 11 January until 10 April
2014.
Additionally, highway users are also able to purchase
preloaded RM5 PLUSMiles and Touch ‘n Go cards at a
promotional rate of RM5 at both toll plazas beginning 1
January until 31 January 2014.
The cards (with a preloaded value of RM5) can also be
purchased a special rate of RM10 after 31 January 2014.
As such, we advise the public utilizing the Kempas and
Perling toll plazas to purchase these cards to enjoy the toll
rebate and smoother toll transactions at both plazas.
Debris On Highway: Users
Cooperation Needed
PLUS views safety issues
on our highways seriously.
As such, we have been
collaborating with the
media to highlight, share and
educate the public on various
initiatives and measures taken
by the company to improve
safety such as immediate
clearance of debris on the
highways by our patrolling
teams, installation of CCTV
cameras at selected locations
on the highways for traffic
and highway monitoring
purposes, collaboration with
the police and various road
safety agencies and so on.
Additionally, PLUS also
continuously organizes
various road safety campaigns
and programmes to educate
highway users over the years.
The Malaysians Unite For
Road Safety (MUFORS)
initiative, spearheaded by
PLUS, urges the public to
play their roles in making
the road safer for all. Under
the MUFORS banner, we
also conducted Respect
Your Limits safety seminars
for heavy vehicle drivers all
across the country, stressing
the need to respect the
limitations of the vehicles
and the drivers themselves.
Our other campaigns and
programmes are tailored
to suit the target audiences
such as young motorcyclists,
university students, secondary
school students and so on.

PLUS will not compromise
on the safety of highway
users and will take all possible
measures to help highway
users enjoy smoother, safer
and more convenient travel
on its expressways.
Simultaneously, PLUS also
urges highway users to also
play their roles to promote
safety on the highways.
Heavy vehicle drivers, owners
and operators must always
ensure that they have secured
their consignments properly
before entering the highways.
Loose consignments, as well
as overloading, compromise
the safety of other highway
users as they tend to fall off
on the road at any time.
PLUS also advises heavy
vehicle operators and
owners to also use better
quality retreaded tyres for
their fleets. Based on our
observation and record, tyre
fragments from vehicles using
low graded retreaded tyres
are the most common debris
on the highways and they
pose a threat to other users,
especially motorcyclists and
drivers of small vehicles.
PLUS also seeks cooperation
from the public to contact
the toll-free PLUSLine 1800
88 0000 should they see any
debris on the highways for
immediate clearance.
