and violin in fact remains only in a version for two harpsichords. Because<br />

Bach has left many indications of how he worked when arranging and<br />

transcribing music, not only his own, it is possible to create an idea of the<br />

original score. In the case of the d minor concerto, the two solo parts fit<br />

the range of the oboe and the violin perfectly. In the Adagio, the two<br />

instruments trade pieces of the same long-lined melody against the<br />

background of the accompanying strings, creating a sense of timeless<br />

tenderness.<br />

Like other 18th century composers, Bach continually re-worked<br />

and reused his music, adapting it to new ensembles, new employers,<br />

and new contexts. Both the violin concertos as well as the double<br />

concerto were later re-worked for harpsichord. The concerto for<br />

oboe and violin in fact remains only in a version for two harpsichords.<br />

Because Bach has left many indications of how he worked<br />

Freiburger Barock orchester (FBO) kan under sin jubileumssäsong<br />

2012/13 se tillbaka på en 25-årig framgångssaga. Från<br />

början var det studenter som inom några år blev en internationellt<br />

eftertraktad orkester, regelbunden gäst i de mest betydelsefulla<br />

konsertsalarna och operahusen. FBO prisas ofta för sin speciella<br />

klang, liksom för den varierade repertoaren som sträcker sig från<br />

tidig barock till nutid. Ensemblen konserterar regelbundet i<br />

Europa, Nord- och Sydamerika och Asien, samt i Australien och<br />

på Nya Zeeland. Under de två konsertmästarna Gottfried von<br />

der Goltz och Petra Müllejans ledarskap och utvalda dirigenters<br />

taktpinne bjuder FBO på cirka hundra föreställningar per år i en<br />
