terricolous Peltigera canina transplanted up- <strong>and</strong> downstream from a c<strong>on</strong>trol beech forest in<br />

the Aries Valley. Zn <strong>and</strong> Cu accumulati<strong>on</strong>s were highest in P. c<strong>on</strong>spersa. Largest accumulati<strong>on</strong>s<br />

were of Pb (2500 p.p.m. in P. c<strong>on</strong>spersa). Heavy metal accumulati<strong>on</strong> decreased with<br />

distance from source, but Mn levels were highest in c<strong>on</strong>trols, with minimum values in<br />
