Mechanics and Criteria for the 22 nd National Statistics Month
Poster Making/Painting Contest
This Poster Making/Painting Contest is part of the 22 nd National Statistical Month (NSM). The
opening ceremony for the 22 nd NSM will be on October 3, 2011.
A. Mechanics
1. The 22 nd National Statistics Month (NSM) Poster Making/Painting Contest is
open to all college students from the National Capital Region (NCR). Maximum
of three (3) representatives per college/university will be accepted.
2. All interested participants must pre-register using the format below:
· Complete Name
· Contact Numbers

· Complete Residential Address
· Name of College/University
· Year, Course/Major
· School Address
To register, email the above details to nsm_22@dswd.gov.ph on or before
September 1, 2011.
3. The theme for the poster making/painting contest shall be: “Quality Social
Protection Statistics for Focused Targeting: Improving Outcomes, Changing
Lives”.
4. 18’ x 24’ drawing pads for the contest will be provided by the organizers. All
other materials must be brought by the participants during the contest day.
5. Materials allowed for the poster making/painting contest:
- oil paints
- water color
6. All artworks must be done on the spot and must be completed with in the
allotted time of two and a half hours.
7. All entries will be pre-numbered. No other identifying marks will be allowed to
appear in the artworks.

8. All entries shall be judged by a Board of Judges composed of experts on the
fields of statistics, social services, arts and the academe.
9. The Prizes shall be:
1 st Place – P25,000.00
2 nd Place – P15,000.00
3 rd Place – P10,000.00
10. Winning and all other entries shall be the property of the organizers and may be
used for other advocacy activities.
11. Contest day shall be on September 3, 2011 (Saturday), 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at
the DSWD Central Office Auditorium, DSWD Complex, IBP Road, Batasan
Pambansa, Constitution Hills, Quezon City.
12. Winners will be identified at the end of the activity. Awarding of winners shall be
during the 22 nd NSM opening ceremony which shall be on October 3, 2011.
B. Criteria for Judging
All artworks will be judged based on the following criteria:
· Relevance to the theme – 40%
· Creativity and Presentation – 40%
· Originality – 20%
