Programs JCPEF Basics for Kids To benefit the 15th District Parent Teacher Association’s Clothing Assistance Program Basics for Kids is a campaign to purchase new uniform clothing for students in need. For more than 28 years, the 15th District Parent Teacher Association’s (PTA’s) Clothing Assistance Program (CAP) has been providing new and used clothing to JCPS students in need. Many of our community’s families face each new school year without resources to provide school clothing for their children. Kids today face many challenges, and economically disadvantaged children have incredible barriers to overcome. In fact, more than 4,000 children in our community don’t have appropriate clothes for school. Imagine the price they pay in self-esteem. Basics for Kids provides these students with school uniform pants, shirts, underwear, socks, and belts. If you are interested in supporting Basics for Kids, contributions can be made to the Jefferson County Public Education Foundation in care of Linda Johnson, director of development, Jaeger Education Center, 502 Wood Road, Suite 201, Louisville, KY 40222. The company donated a generous number of school supplies to benefit JCPS students through the Basics for Kids initiative at five elementary schools. Thank you to the employees of Servpro and the Frazier Rehab Institute who made their annual school supply donation.
