An Invitation
Dear Racers,
On behalf of the officers, directors and members of the Port Credit
Yacht Club, the Lake Ontario 300 Committee and the Great Lakes
Single Handed Society, it is my pleasure to invite you and your crew
to participate in the 22nd annual Lake Ontario 300 Challenge to be
held on Friday July 16 to Tuesday, July 20 2011.
Offshore racing is thriving on Lake Ontario and we are extremely
excited about this year’s LO300 Challenge. The organizing committee
has been working hard to make the LO300 Challenge a marquee
event. It’s renowned as the most challenging long distance race on
the Great Lakes and the longest inland race course in the world!
In 2010, 178 boats and more than 800 people participated in the
exhilarating LO300 Challenge and we’re anticipating more than 200
boats in this year’s race.
The LO300 Challenge has something for everyone.

• Challenge skippers from your club to participate in the Skippers’ Plan
Team Challenge to raise money for your club’s junior sailing instructional
program
• First timers – take on the challenge of the Scotch Bonnet Island Course
or the full Main Duck Island Course
• If you’ve done the Scotch Bonnet Island Course why not try the Main
Duck Course this year?
• Challenge yourself to place at the top of your division
• Are you up for the challenge to win the coveted Sperry Cup?
Thank you to our many returning and new sponsors. The festivities start with a
BBQ and skipper’s meeting on Friday night with live entertainment, followed by
the Sperry breakfast on Saturday morning, race tracking throughout and a great
post race party on Tuesday evening.
