<strong>Scotsman</strong> has been one of the key players <strong>in</strong><br />

Countries outside the US for the diffusion of the<br />

square (d<strong>ice</strong>) cube. <strong>The</strong> d<strong>ice</strong> cube, with its six sides,<br />

allows for an excellent heat exchange contact<br />

surface, hence, fast chill<strong>in</strong>g of all dr<strong>in</strong>ks. <strong>The</strong> d<strong>ice</strong><br />

cube adapts very well to any size and shape of<br />

glass. <strong>The</strong> vertical evaporator, well known and<br />

appreciated, allows to obta<strong>in</strong> high levels of production<br />

at reasonable operat<strong>in</strong>g costs. <strong>The</strong> Vertical D<strong>ice</strong><br />

evaporator technology, which has been recently<br />

upgraded to meet and exceed str<strong>in</strong>gent water<br />

and electricity consumption limits, is found on<br />

<strong>Scotsman</strong> MV & MV Prodigy Series. It guarantees<br />

excellent operat<strong>in</strong>g performance under any<br />

circumstances, even <strong>in</strong> very "hard" water conditions.<br />

Equipment Lifetime operat<strong>in</strong>g costs are<br />

redu-ced to a m<strong>in</strong>imum through excellent eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g<br />

and f<strong>in</strong>al design of these units.<br />

Nugget & Cubelet Ice Cubes<br />

Small = Ø 11 mm - Medium = Ø 17 mm 16x15x7-8 mm<br />

Nugget and Cubelet <strong>ice</strong> cubes are made from<br />

compressed flakes of <strong>ice</strong>. <strong>The</strong> result: convenient<br />

micro-cubes for multiple uses, <strong>in</strong> place of<br />

standard cubes or as small, long-last<strong>in</strong>g <strong>ice</strong><br />

nuggets - hygienic and easy to use. <strong>Scotsman</strong><br />

applies this technology <strong>in</strong> all its <strong>ice</strong> dispensers <strong>in</strong><br />

the MDT - TC - NVT l<strong>in</strong>es, where the needs to<br />

have fast <strong>ice</strong> dispens<strong>in</strong>g and avoid <strong>ice</strong><br />

manipulation f<strong>in</strong>d a great solution! Nugget &<br />

Cubelet <strong>ice</strong> cubes are excellent when used <strong>in</strong><br />

conjunction with carbonated dr<strong>in</strong>ks: <strong>in</strong> fact,<br />

they form an <strong>ice</strong> cube layer that floats at the dr<strong>in</strong>k<br />

surface, thus separat<strong>in</strong>g the dr<strong>in</strong>k itself from the<br />

environment and avoid<strong>in</strong>g its premature<br />

oxidation. Micro <strong>ice</strong>-cubes are today so well<br />

accepted and <strong>in</strong> demand that stores on various<br />

segments proudly feature them as an <strong>in</strong>dication<br />

Superflake Ice<br />

Humidity 15%<br />

Flake Ice is <strong>ice</strong> <strong>in</strong> its most natural form, made<br />

at a temperature just below zero degrees<br />

Celsius, it is the easiest to use and arrange on<br />

flat surfaces. <strong>Scotsman</strong> offers flake <strong>ice</strong> <strong>in</strong> two<br />

different variations: Flake and Super-flake.<br />

Flake <strong>ice</strong> conta<strong>in</strong>s 25% residual water<br />

content, mak<strong>in</strong>g it very moist. Its flake shape<br />

makes it extremely versatile and very simple to<br />

use effectively. Super-flake <strong>ice</strong> is more<br />

compact and is extruded just below zero<br />

degrees Celsius, reta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g only 15-18% of<br />

residual water, mak<strong>in</strong>g it relatively dryer than<br />

Flake <strong>ice</strong>. Super-flake <strong>ice</strong> lasts longer, releas<strong>in</strong>g<br />

moisture over a longer period of time without<br />

the need for <strong>ice</strong> replenishment on the display<br />

counter. Applications for Flake and Super-flake<br />

Ice are multiple: fish display counters <strong>in</strong> f<strong>in</strong>e<br />

d<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g restaurants; buffet displays <strong>in</strong> hotels,<br />

frozen dr<strong>in</strong>ks preparation, fresh fruits and fresh<br />

produce presentations; fast chill<strong>in</strong>g of w<strong>in</strong>e &<br />

champagne and so on.<br />
