The purpose of the Economic Development Grant Program is to provide funds to local organizations
that offer programs/events that contribute to economic development or the betterment of our
Community. Applications must be submitted by a registered organization.

PAY YOUR PARKING INFRACTION ONLINE

The Town of Georgina is pleased to announce that all
payments for parking infractions issued in Georgina can now
be made online at www.town.georgina.on.ca using VISA or
MASTERCARD.
All applications must be submitted to the Economic and Tourism Development Office
on or before February 26, 2010.

changing for kids ages 0-15
Beginning February 1st, all children ages 15 and under will require parent/
guardian signed permission to use library computers with Internet access.
Ask for details and pick up/sign a permission form for your child if you want them to be
able to use library computers.

BR+E PROJECT
The Town of Georgina has commenced a Business Retention and Expansion Project (BR+E). This project
is being coordinated by the Town in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food & Rural
Affairs (OMAFRA), South Lake Community Futures Development Corporation, and the Georgina Chamber of
Commerce.
The BR+E Program is an economic development tool developed by OMAFRA that helps rural communities to
promote job growth and business expansion by:
1. Identifying the needs, concerns, and opportunities of existing local businesses.
2. Develop local action plans that will respond to the needs of the business community;
3. Demonstrating the community’s pro-business attitude and developing an effective means of
communication with local businesses; and,
4. Assisting to determine the future focus of economic development activities.
The surveying of local businesses is underway. In the next few weeks you may be one of the businesses selected
to participate in this project. It is intended that the sample group will include a sampling of businesses from all
sectors, business sizes from all communities. If selected, you will be asked to meet with the project coordinator
or designate and complete a questionnaire.
Your input is important and is invaluable to the success of this project. All responses will be kept
confidential.

STRUCTURAL REPAIRS
Sealed Tenders, on forms provided by the Town of
Georgina Purchasing Division, and sealed in envelopes,
clearly marked as to contents, will be received by the
Purchasing Manager, until 2:00 p.m., local time,
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2010
for:
IRONWORKS & STRUCTURAL REINFORCEMENT
CIVIC CENTRE
Plans, Specifications and Form of Tender may be
obtained from the Town of Georgina Purchasing Division
on Tuesday January 26, 2010, for the sum of Twenty
Five ($25.00) Dollars plus Goods and Service Tax
(G.S.T.), which will not be refunded.
Tenders will be opened publicly at 2:15 p.m. local time
on Friday, February 12, 2010, in the Office of the Clerk,
located on the First Floor of the Civic Centre.
There will be a Mandatory Bidders' Meeting at the
Georgina Civic Centre, 26557 Civic Centre Road, Keswick
on Tuesday February 2, 2010 at 10:00 AM.
Each tender must be accompanied by a Bid Deposit in
the form of a certified cheque in the amount of $5,000.00
made payable to the Town of Georgina.
Each tender must be accompanied by an Agreement to
Bond. The successful bidder must provide a Performance
Bond for 50% of the total tender and a Labour and
Material Payment Bond for 50% of the total tender by an
approved guarantee company.
ANY BID RECEIVED THAT DOES NOT SATISFY THE
TENDER DEPOSIT OR BONDING REQUIREMENTS WILL
BE DECLARED AN IMPROPER BID AND WILL BE
REJECTED.
Tenders will be reviewed by the Town of Georgina as to
lowest price, qualifications, capabilities and experience
of the bidder to complete the project.

Dog licenses can also be purchased during the year at the Civic Centre at 26557 Civic Centre
Road, or at the Animal Control and Adoption Centre at 26819 Civic Centre.
Application forms can also be downloaded from the Town’s website at www.georgina.ca. The
dog license fee is $35.00 per dog if not spayed or neutered and $20.00 per dog if spayed or
neutered.
The fine for failing to purchase a dog license is $125.00 as per By-law No. 2004-0130 (LI-3).
