Data Link Layer Control n The Data Link Layer may be in any of three states and provides two status indicator outputs l Data Link Layer states – DL_Inactive • Link is non-operational or nothing is happening – DL_Init • Link is operational • Flow control initialized for default VC (VC0) – DL_Active • Normal operational mode l Data Link Layer status outputs – DL_Down • Link is not communicating with component at the other end – DL_Up • Communications established with component at the other end Copyright by Dashcourses, Inc. 2009 3-100
