ETC – Apex Committee Report Annexure D – Draft Notification for enforcement In exercise of the powers conferred by section 115 and section 2 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, read with this Government notification, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India on being satisfied that it is necessary in the interest of public safety and convenience of the general public to regulate the movement of traffics, prohibits the entry of all motor vehicles except the ones with valid Tag on the ETC lane. Whoever contravenes the above prohibitional restrictions shall be punished in accordance with the provisions of section 194 of the Act. The above mentioned prohibition/ restrictions shall not be applicable during emergent situations to the motor vehicles of Police, Ambulance, Fire Brigade and other Emergency Service Vehicles, when proceeding on emergency duties.
