Wildlife Academy
Lions, tigers and bears, oh my! Our Wildlife Academy is all animals,
all the time. Guests can share some Nemacolin space with tigers,
leopards, wolves and hyenas. A hair-raising experience! Other fun
things you’ll fi nd to do here include:
BACKWOODS TRAIL RIDES
Experience the resort’s 2,000 acres the way the original inhabitants
and settlers of the area did, on horseback. Rides are by appointment
only.
PONY RIDES
Each 10 minute ride is by appointment only.
SAFARI TOURS
Your safari tour will begin at the Adventure Center and take you to
our wildlife habitats where you can get up close and personal with
our animal family. There’s a quick stop by Billy Goat Mountain to
feed the sheep and goats, then off to the Wildlife Academy to tour
the smaller, exotic animals that are housed there. Our educational
tour is 1½ hour in length and is fun for all ages.
JAMAICAN DOG SLEDDING
Dog sledding at Nemacolin is an
experience for the entire family
and now it’s available year round!
Our exclusive team of sled dogs
that call the Wildlife Academy
home are jumping at the chance
to give everyone an encounter
you won’t ever forget. Each 30
minute ride includes a 15 minute
ride and a 15 minute kennel tour.
WILD ANIMAL SHOW
It’s a circus-like atmosphere with
live animal shows to entertain
and educate all ages.
BILLY GOAT MOUNTAIN
PETTING ZOO
A wonderful experience for the
entire family! Stop by to visit
and feed a variety of animals.
WEEKEND NURSERY TOURS
Your educational tour includes
a guided walking tour of the
Wildlife Academy Nursery as
well as the chance to interact
with a few of the animals.
ANIMAL EXPRESS TRAIN
The tour will leave from the
Adventure Center and head out
to the animal enclosures. You
will see bison, moose, hyenas,
tigers, lions, bear, big horned
sheep and zebra. On this tour
you will stop to feed the sheep
and goats at Billy Goat Mountain.
Each educational tour is an hour
in length is fun for all ages.
