Old friends were reunited on September 18, 2013 when Bryce Hatch ’57 (retired in Hattiesburg, MS) met Richard Hamilton ’58 (retired in Scarborough, ME) at the summer home of Bryce’s niece and husband Richard and Connie Younger in Hampton Beach, NH. Both men tried their best to update the other while their respective wives, Rose and Anna, quietly looked on! Their attempt to bridge the years started in the Younger’s living room and continued in a local restaurant. According to Rose Hatch they provided “entertainment” for fellow lunch companions as their loud reminiscing (due to age-related hearing loss by both) could be heard clearly by all other patrons. Blessed be the ties that bind especially those that were forged so many years ago at WVWC! Jean Allen Pickering ’55 of Williamstown sent this picture of their 1955 Class annual gathering in August in the Parkersburg area. This picture was taken on their trip to the Blennerhassett Island State Park. Based on their Wesleyan friendships, this group has met for many years at various locations across the United States. Pictured are Mardie O’Connor and her date Jack; Joan Patterson, Bill Berg, Jean Pickering, Joe Patterson, Marg Berg and Charlie Pickering. William H. Payne ’49 of Blacksburg, VA had hip surgery in July and has recovered well. He celebrated his birthday on September 15 and has been a member of the Bill Foster Birthday Club since becoming a member of the Emeritus Club.
