Parks Facilities
Summer outdoor parks facilities
include over 30 tennis courts, swimming
pools in communities, many
playground facilities, splash parks and
basketball courts in numerous neighborhood
parks.
Dog Park
The spacious dog park offers dog
owners a safe, legal opportunity to
exercise their pets off leash within
the city limits. Currently licensed
dogs can romp freely under their
owners care in the large fenced dog
park located in Lincoln Park.
Golf
For the golfing enthusiast, there’s no
need to go far. Grand Forks and East
Grand Forks feature five golfing facilities,
four of which are public courses.
King’s Walk is a world-class golf experience.
Designed by Arnold Palmer
and his design team, it’s the only PGArated
course in North Dakota or Manitoba.
Characterized by rolling terrain
with mounds, moguls, native grasses,
Austrian pine trees and lakes, this is a
Choice Health & Fitness
public, daily-fee facility available for
group outings, special events or golf
lessons.
Two other 18-hole golf courses are
available, one on each side of the river.
Grand Forks Country Club is a private
membership organization.
Valley Golf, located in East Grand
Forks, offers a unique 18-hole layout
that challenges all levels of golfers.
The course has a beautiful setting
for any type of group function, from
a company golf outing to wedding
receptions. A pro shop, driving range,
snack bar and banquet facilities with
a full bar are some of the services offered.
Also within our communities are two
public nine-hole golf courses. Ray
Richards is a full-service, nine-hole,
par 36 course designed by renowned
landscape architect Robert Bruce
Harris of Chicago and owned by the
University of North Dakota.
Lincoln Golf Course was established in
1909, making it one of North Dakota’s
oldest golf facilities. Originally, the
18-hole, par 71 golf course ran along
the Red River of the North. Because
Disc Golf
Fast becoming a very popular sport in
Grand Forks and East Grand Forks,
disc golf is a great way to spend an
afternoon outdoors. Grand Forks Park
District developed one of the first
disc golf courses in the state of North
Dakota. The 18-hole course is located
in Lincoln Drive Park and is free to use.
On any given sunny afternoon or evening,
you’ll find many people enjoying
a round of disc golf.
Racing at River Cities
Friday night is race night in the Grand
Cities. The River Cities Speedway is
one of the nation’s best quarter-mile
dirt tracks. Featuring outlaw sprints,
late models, super stocks, street
stocks and Midwest modifieds, River
Cities Speedway has racing every
Friday from the middle of April through
the middle of September.
Bicycling
The communities of Grand Forks and
East Grand Forks have over 43 miles
of designated bike trails, with additional
trails being paved as part of the
Greenway project. When completed,
the multi-purpose asphalt trails within
the Greenway will measure over 20
miles on both sides of the Red River,
with two multi-use, non-motorized
bridges connecting the trails on the
two sides.
