Alpine hike in the lowlands
Baden Railway Station – train to Schneisingen
Murzlen – hike to the Alpine roses – Vogelsang –
Endingen – return trip aboard Post bus to Baden
The route sets off opposite the Bucher industrial
premises in a northerly direction to the village of
Schneisingen. Follow the signs ‘Mittel- und Ober-
Schneisingen, Koblenz und Bad Zurzach.’ In the
Bowald Woods, you will soon find Alpine roses (in
bloom from the middle of May), which were carried
into the lowlands during the ice age and have
continued to survive up until today. After admiring
the Alpine roses, get on the trail network once again
and walk westward through the shady woods to the
hamlet of Vogelsang. The trail follows the sloping
meadow and then the forest’s edge all the way to
Endingen.
Places of interest:
A side trip above Schneisingen to the Oberhard area
with the Egg lookout point (only 7 minutes) is definitely
worthwhile. You will be rewarded by a view that
spans from the Churfirsten Mountains to the Black
Forest and over the entire Surbtal Valley. In May,
this is one of the most beautiful flower meadows
anywhere in Switzerland.

Public transport:
From the Postauto bus station at Baden Main
Railway Station (Bahnhofstrasse level, see signage),
take bus number 354 to the Schneisingen "Murzlen"
bus stop. The "Alpine Hike" begins here.
At the end of this hike, you can travel back to
Baden from the Endingen "Post" bus stop
on bus number 352 or 353.

between Endingen and Lengnau, www.juedischerkulturweg.ch.
It draws your attention to historical
sites from a time when Jews in Switzerland were
only permitted to live in the two Surbtal Valley
