Baden Railway Station – former Oberstadt Railway
Station – Dättwil – Fislisbach –
Niederrohrdorf – Marsh areas: Torfmoos,
Taumoos, Egelmoos
The actual hike begins at the former Baden
Oberstadt Railway Station. You can reach it via
Badstrasse, Stadtturm (city tower), Mittlere Gasse
and Cordulaplatz. The ‘Glas’ pedestrian underpass
takes you to Mellingerstrasse and Hotel Linde,
where you can cross the street. Left of the library,
the route leads to the former railway station and
passes over the walkway to the KV Baden-Zurzach
Business School. Here, the route veers off to the
right and follows the forest edge to Fislisbach and
over gently-rolling hills and through meadows and
woods to the moor area and small lakes. The hike is
especially charming thanks to its lovely landscape
and also contains a rich diversity of plant life.
Places of interest:
Near the village of Fislisbach, you can find witnesses
of the last ice age. A moraine hill from this era
is the ‘Boll.’ The rounded moraine with a gorgeous
view of the village and the Reuss Valley is a place
of contemplation today. The Niederrohrdorfer Möser
(marshes) are from the same era. The receding
Reuss Glacier left behind masses of dead ice
between moraine walls and these formed smaller
and larger lakes and a unique moor landscape with
diverse animal and plant life.

Variations:
If you want to shorten the hike, you can start in
Fislibach instead. From the Postauto bus station at
Baden Main Railway Station (Bahnhofstrasse level,
see signage), take bus number 321, 322, 332 or
334 to the Fislisbach "Post" bus stop, and start your
hike from there. (6.8 km / 105 m ascent / 104 m
descent, 1 hr 40 min)
Public transport:
From the Niederrohrdorf "Welschland" bus stop,
the Postauto bus number 322 will take you back to
Baden.
