takes you to Fosnes municipality and<br />

Salsnes on the mainland. Follow Rv<br />

777 to Ølhammeren. You arrive on<br />

the island of Jøa following a 5-min.<br />

ferry ride. Express boat service from<br />

Jøa to Namsos, Rørvik and Leka.<br />

Jøa is known as the land of<br />

Olav Duun. This landscape gave<br />

inspiration to his writing. Olav<br />

Duun’s childhood home is in<br />

the municipal centre of Dun,<br />

here you will also find a memorial<br />

to the author. ”Siglurd”, a<br />

traditional Norwegian sailing<br />

vessel represents a further<br />

development of the old Viking<br />

ships. Siglurd and MS “Straumingen”,<br />

a restored wooden fishing<br />

vessel have their home port<br />

at Brakstad Harbor, which also<br />

choice of wilderness activities,<br />

Sea and the Folla sea.<br />
