Chairman’s Message
If
I
your summer was like mine, you are likely just
starting to slow down from a very busy season on
the beach. As school starts back
Iand Labor Day approaches, it’s the time
of year we all start planning for football
season, cooler temperatures, and
hopefully a break from all this rain.
Additionally for many, it’s the time
of year we start looking ahead to
2013. Budgeting, planning, and
staffing all take center stage in our
working world. In our personal lives,
many look to a new year to commit
to changing our lifestyles with
a newfound focus on diet and
exercise.
This issue of
The Circuit is centered on Health &
Wellness
ness. Those of you who know me well understand
that running is a daily routine for me, and exercise and
sports s are deeply rooted in my family life. There is

the last time Panama City Beach had a more
prosperous summer than we Bdid in 2012, and our accommodations,

for that. Visitors and residents alike
enjoyed all our great community has

summer is quickly coming to an end
and everyone is heading back to work
and school, we are preparing for a
very EVENTful fall.
The Panama City Beach Chamber of
Commerce and Florida Restaurant
and Lodging Association have
partnered together to bring to you
the Panama City Beach Seafood & Music Festival:
UNwineD 2012. This festival will take place the
last weekend in October at Capt. Anderson’s Marina.
We are working diligently to make sure we give our
community a high quality, memorable event. The
Beach Chamber’s 3rd Annual Golf Classic is also the
last weekend of October at Hombre Golf Club. This
event was a favorite of our members last year and is
sure to be again this fall. Coming soon in December
2012 is a half-marathon race, Run for the Redfish, that
the Beach Chamber has also decided to host. We look
forward to seeing everyone come out to Pier Park this
winter for a truly inspiring event.

As the summer winds down, I
encourage each of you not to wait until
the New Year to “get out and about”
and focus yourselves on health and
fitness. As you flip through the pages
of this issue, see where you can find
opportunities to incorporate healthier
choices into your day to day activities.
You’ll notice the Chamber is presenting
the
Run for the Redfish on December
1, so please sign up; you have plenty of
time to start training now.
The Chamber calendar is full of events
and opportunities to be engaged in our community. As
always, the Chamber staff is here to assist you in any
way possible.

In early August, two of my staff and myself attended the
ACCE Conference in Louisville, Kentucky. This great
experience led us to a better knowledge
in the art of negotiation, marketing for
our members and beneficial chamber
information. At this conference I realized
how incredibly proud I am of the Panama
City Beach Chamber of Commerce
and our accomplishments and growth
through the years. Our members have
truly given us the potential to be able to
positively contribute to our community.
We look forward to another great season
with endless possibilities for the Beach
Chamber.
