Agency/ Program Refugee Program Healthy Marriage Program Alternatives to Abortion Program HHSC Office of The Ombudsman HHSC Civil Rights Office Description organizations, including law enforcement agencies. Provides cash and medical assistance as well as social services to refugees and families and individual eligibility for refugee services. Services can include Social Services, Cash Assistance, Medical Assistance, Health Screenings, and Unaccompanied Refugee Minors. Provides marriage and relationship skills education to parents for the purpose of creating safe, healthy and well-adjusted home environments for children. Provides low-income pregnant women with pregnancy and parenting information and support, including counseling referral and pregnancy information hotline, support groups in maternity homes, referrals to community and social programs, classes on life skills, budgeting and parenting, etc., and items such as car seats, maternity clothes, infant diapers and formula. It is the mission of the Office of the Ombudsman to serve the consumers through prompt, professional and courteous service as a neutral resource for resolution of HHSrelated inquiries and complaints. The Medicaid Managed Care Helpline (MMCH) assist clients who have complaints or questions related to Medicaid benefits Ensures that HHS programs and services do not discriminate against clients and applicants for services.
