notes from the hazzan
We have all been taught from an early age to say “thank you” whenever
we have been done a kindness or given a gift, whether expected
or not. Unfortunately, this runs the risk of becoming an automatic
response, devoid of the feeling or personalization that a heartfelt
expression of thanks would entail. American culture and tradition
has given us a holiday during which we can focus on our Thanks -
giving for all of the gifts we receive regularly – food, shelter, wealth,
security. Many of us use the occasion of the Thanksgiving holiday to
focus on the events, occasions, and gifts which are most significant
to us personally. My family remembers the holiday as the date when we first announced
the impending arrival of the first member of the next generation of our family 11 years
ago. But the expression of thanks in our busy lives often gets overlooked. In the daily
Amida, there is a prayer of thanksgiving. Three times a day, we thank God for our lives
which are “placed in Your hands,” our souls which are “commanded to You,” the miracles
which are “with us each day,” and “the goodness which is “within us daily.” These
words are not mere lip service to our need to express gratitude. They are a prompt for
us to realize that every aspect of our daily reality is a micro-miracle without which we
would not be here with the often overlooked opportunity to give thanks.
On the day given to the recognition of gratitude, we tend to focus on the personal
without giving credit to the global. While being thankful for turkey, stuffing, and other
goodies, have any of us taken the time to thank the Divine for having woken up that
morning? In between bites of pumpkin or pecan pie (I have parve recipes; email me and
ask…) have we thanked God for the mere fact that we can enjoy the culinary decadence?
If you consider the incredible string of miracles which need to occur in order to
make your daily life continue as scheduled and expected, have you taken the time to
express your thanks for the universe continuing to work according to plan? If not,
maybe you need to take the extra time on Thanksgiving to even the score, and then to
realize that the sense of gratitude you feel incurs a daily debt of thanks, not an annual
one. Fortunately, we’re here for you 24/7. Feel free to come by any morning or evening
to say “thank you.” I guarantee that if you do it enough, the “you’re welcome” will be
self-evident!
HAKOL

torah from Our rabbinic intern
DANIEL CHORNY
In the summer of 2010, my wife, Hillary, and I took a trip to my
hometown of Bogotá, Colombia. This was my first visit back since
my family immigrated to the United States in 2000. On our last
night, we went in search of a traditional Colombian cocktail. How -
ever, when we placed our drink order, our waiter replied: “I’m so
sorry, but tomorrow’s Election Day. We can’t serve alcohol tonight.”
We were surprised to learn that, as a measure to prevent politically
motivated violence, Colombian law prohibited the sale of alcohol
at that time. This actually made some sense in light of Colombia’s
electoral history. In 2002, for example, a presidential candidate was kidnapped midelection,
not to be released until five years later. Such events are not necessarily fueled
by alcohol consumption, but in a country that tends toward explosive clashes between
political factions, the Colombian people don’t need additional bar fights, vandalism and
public disturbances.
Today, thank God, I live in a country where such events are far from our collective
imaginations. While we are certainly in the midst of a heated and divisive election
season, Americans are not plotting to abduct presidential hopefuls, even when we
ardently disagree with each other about which course our country should take.
In a few weeks, we will retell the story of Hanukkah. It may surprise you to know
that, while we celebrate the miracle of the oil and the expulsion of the Syrian-Greeks,
Hannukah is as much about a Jewish civil war as it is about the restoration of the
Temple and regaining religious freedom. The Book of Maccabees record a period in
which Jews disagreed about how they should or should not acculturate to the social
trends of their day. On one side, there were Jews who embraced Greek culture fully.
They ate non-kosher food, participated in idolatrous rituals, and attended Greek events
naked and uncircumcised. On the other side were the Maccabees and their followers,
who believed in keeping the Jewish religion and culture pure of outside influence,
going as far as forcibly circumcising their Hellenized brethren. Both sides felt their way
was right for the Jewish people and that their political opponents, if unchallenged,
would destroy the nation. And in the end, the latter faction proved victorious in the
violent clash of ideologies and swords.
Reflecting upon the story of Hanukkah, we can see that our people have come a long
way in how we resolve our political differences. Though Jews do not speak in one
voice, we speak to each other openly instead of taking up arms to impose our views on
one another. This election season, our people are divided along many important issues
like social security, healthcare reform, fiscal policy, the war in Iraq, and America’s
relationship to Israel, to name a few. At the same time, we are united by our love of
country, our desire to see each other succeed and be prosperous, and our commitment
to upholding the ideals of a democratic society. May our community be a shining
example of civilized discourse on the road to the 2012 fall election, and may the flames
of Hanukkah light the path of unity after our votes have been counted.
which each member—regardless
of age, stage of life or
background—feels a connection
the Jewish people, to the
United States, to the land
G’milut Chasadim. So too
does our Congregation.
HAROLD KISLIK
From the President
Wow! We made it through the fall holidays. It does seem as if everything
else is suspended for about a month while we focus on the
preparations and rituals of each succeeding Yom Tov. Of course,
there have been many other activities and simchas interlaced within
this period, and the business of the synagogue never ceases, but
sometimes it can feel like we’ve been caught in a never-ending “holiday
time-warp.” There’s no question that it’s a tiring stretch. On the
one hand, we can give a collective sigh of relief that it’s over and we
can get on with our regular routines. On the other hand, there is so
much spirituality, personal meaning, and sense of community togetherness associated
with the holidays, we are likely to experience some disappointment and let-down over
its conclusion.
Looking back, the holidays this year really were special. As usual we had an enthusiastic
crowd on the first day of Rosh Hashanah. In case you were wondering what happened
to the “overflow” seating in the reception area, this year we installed a closed-circuit
video system that enabled the services to be viewed and heard from the comfort of
the chapel. All those who chose to be seated there (and it was full) found the experience
to be extremely gratifying. In addition, those who were seated in the ballroom area
were able to better enjoy services with significantly less disturbance coming from the
reception area.
On Sukkot, we had the wonderful privilege of being able to celebrate the holiday and
fulfill the mitzvah of dwelling in the sukkah, as an entire congregation. Due to the generosity
and compassion of Michael Greenberg and The Susser Family Trust, we enjoyed
a Family Friday meal and other events together in our new super-sized sukkah. A beautiful
day for the sukkah hop added another great community-shared aspect to the holiday.
It was a real “season of our rejoicing.”
We closed the holiday season with another wonderful celebration on Simchat Torah,
which included proudly reading, “In the beginning…” from the very first verse in our
new Sefer Torah. In addition, we honored two most deserving congregants, Buddy
Brandt and Carol Rubinstein, and we had a great time singing, dancing and parading
our Sifrei Torahs outside around our building and through the sukkah.
I can’t thank enough everyone who put in so much time and effort to prepare and
run all the holiday events: the staff, clergy, and volunteers. Yasher koach to all.
Looking forward, there is much going on to keep us all involved. Most notably, we
have embarked on our “Year of Mitzvah” about which Rabbi Warmflash spoke on Yom
Kippur. An impressive number of congregants turned in their mitzvah cards, demonstrating
their commitment to adding a mitzvah this year. Don’t miss the Mitzvah Fair
on Sunday, November 18th. It is sure to be a fun-filled, exciting, and educational experience,
and perhaps you may discover your personal choice of mitzvah to take on.
Among the many programs we offer, Rabbi’s Bible and Talmud classes have resumed,
Nachum’s Read Hebrew America classes are starting, our youth groups are meeting, and
Shalom friends! The High Holiday season is now over and HERJC
activities are in full swing. Recently, a woman from Maryland who
had been visiting our area, attended our morning minyan. On her
return home, she sent me a letter which I would like to share:
Dear Nachum:
I hope this message finds you and your family well. I wanted to
take a moment to express my thanks to you and to the entire morning
minyan of HERJC. You have all made me feel welcome and comfortable
during a most uncomfortable time of family illness. As seems appropriate for
the month of Elul now that things have stabilized a bit, I can take a long, deep breath,
and reflect on the kindness and support I found in the men and women who attend and
lead and joke and cajole at weekday Shaharit (services).
Forty five years ago, I became a Bat Mitzvah, “across the hall”, in the main sanctuary
in HERJC. In those days, young girls chanted the haftorah on Friday nights, made
no speeches, gave no divrei torah, and, most significantly, were taught little or nothing
about the significance of the parasha/haftorah. Growing up on Long Island was an emotionally
difficult experience for many reasons – one which led me to choose to live just
about anywhere that, davka, wasn’t Long Island.
However, the environment created by you, the klei kodesh, and – especially – the
“regulars” seems light years away from all of that negativity of my youth. It is a joy to
be able to spend a small part of the day with all of you. My tefillah is enhanced because
of this environment.
I wish each of you a heartfelt yasher koah, and a new year filled with joy and
blessings.
Ktivah V’chatima tova,
Paula Tobenfeld, North Potomac, MD
It is nice to be appreciated! If you would like to join us, you will be assured of the same
warm welcome. That’s all for now. See you at minyan.
Hanukkah
The Lighting of Hanukkah Candles
The celebration of Hanukkah begins on the twenty-fifth day of the Hebrew
month of Kislev. On this day, a small group of Maccabean soldiers were victo -
rious over the great Greek army, and the desecrated Temple was rededicated to
the service of God. We light candles for eight days, beginning on the evening of
December 8, in commemoration of the famous miracle of the oil. After the
Maccabean victory, one single crucible of oil (enough to light the Temple
Menorah for only one day) was found. Miraculously, however, it lasted for eight
days, long enough for new consecrated oil to be prepared.
The Hanukkah menorah (Hanukkia) has nine candles, eight of which represent the eight days of Hanukkah. The
ninth candle, the Shamash, is used to light the other candles and usually towers above the rest.
The Hanukkah lights may be lit by any member of the family. In many families, each member lights his or her own
Hanukkia.
NIGHTLY BLESSINGS
Baruch ata Adonai, Elohaynu Melech Haolam,
asher kidshanu b’mitsvotav, v’tsivanu,
l’hadlik ner shel Hanukkah.
We praise You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with Your Mitzvot and commanded us to kindle the Hanukkah lights.
Baruch ata Adonai, Elohaynu Melech Haolam,
she-asa nisim la-a-vo-tenu, ba-yamim,
ha-hem bazman ha-zeh.
We praise You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who performed wondrous deeds for our ancestors in days of old at this season.
TO BE ADDED ON THE FIRST NIGHT AFTER THE OTHER 2 BLESSINGS
Baruch ata Adonai, Elohaynu
Melech Haolam, she-he-che-yanu
v’ki-y’manu, v’higianu lazman ha-zeh.
We praise You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has given us life, sustained us and enabled us to reach this season.
ORDER OF LIGHTING THE HANUKKAH CANDLES
East Rockaway
Hanukkah Candle Lighting
December 13, 5:30 pm
Watch for Details On-line
The candles are placed from right to left, as one faces the Hanukkia (as Hebrew is read). But they are lit from left
to right, so that on each night, the new candle is given special welcome by being lit first. Only the Shamash is used to
light the other candles.
The candles should be lit as soon as possible once it is dark. On Friday night, however, the Hanukkah candles are
lit BEFORE the Shabbat candles. At the close of Shabbat, the Havdalah cere mony precedes the lighting of the
Hanukkia.
Sisterhood News
LAURIE STONE BROFSKY
It seems to be kind of “cozy” right
now to be a woman here at HERJC. In
our Jewish American life on this very
small piece of the earth, the crazy fall
holidays at our egalitarian synagogue
are over and we have a chance to
recoup at last. Every candidate running
for political office in the upcoming
election is wooing us, insisting
that our vote is important: we count. We have a voice,
we can make a difference and we have choices.
Wasn’t always that way. It is only a little more than 90
years since women were first granted the right to vote in
the United States. More than 70 years before that,
women were just beginning to find their voice; Lucretia
Mott, known for oratory skills not common for women
to have developed in her time, joined with Elizabeth
Cady Stanton in 1848, right here in upstate New York, to
convene a women’s rights convention for the very first
time in this country. The town of Seneca Falls in the
Finger Lakes region pays tribute to the convention held
there as well as hosts the National Women’s Hall of Fame
and Women’s Rights National Historical Park; synopses
of these great American women whose voices have
helped shape our country can be expored at www.greatwomen.org
While grateful for what many women have been able
to accomplish here, it is disturbing to contemplate that
in many other places, their voices have yet to count; the
world is not such a warm and accepting place for so
many of the female gender. The recent attempt to silence
the voice of one young girl in Pakistan by men who are
threatened by her desire to pursue an education has
made this all too clear. Our prayers go out to 14 year old
Malala Yousafzai. The world learned of this astounding
act of violence just as the first UN International Day of
the Girl Child was being celebrated; Malala has for many
become an unexpected, unofficial poster child for
efforts to eliminate discrimination and violence against
girls everywhere. It hoped that attention to this issue
will translate into more opportunities for girl’s voices to
survive and thrive as they grow into womanhood.
The lack of tolerance for women’s voices around the
world takes many forms. As the extreme violence
against Malali Yousafzai tears at our heart, there are also
more subtle ways that women’s voices are suppressed.
Just recently in Israel, Anat Hoffman was once again
arrested, this time for saying the Shema out loud on the
women’s side of the kotel. It is quite unsettling that,
unlike those in our particular environment, there are
many elsewhere who regardless of political freedom,
still deny religious freedom to women, denying their
actual voices in public.
As election day 2012 approaches, we must remember
that while we are not free of problems or our own
women’s issues here in the US, we do have much in our
favor: we are allowed to speak out and we have a political
voice. One thing we CAN do and MUST do is use
that voice. VOTE!
Sisterhood would like to thank:
• Arlene Thaler and Fran Frank, as well as all the other
wonderful Sisterhood women who set up a “simply
divine” membership dinner. And thanks to all of you
who attended this fabulous evening.
• Eileen Stier DeAlto for arranging our delightful trip
to the Chagall exhibit at the Nassau County Museum
of Art.
• Hannah Plotkin, Mati Olin and Carol Rubinstein
again for their work on the mappah that continues to
be used each Shabbat to beautifully keep the Torah
covered between readings during the service.
• Carol Rubinstein for coordinating the Kippot Project
for US servicemen overseas. Congratulations to Carol
as well for her honor on Simchat Torah.
our jewish future
nursery school
CHERYL KARP
At a recent staff meeting, Rabbi
Warmflash made a comment that
greatly resonated with me. He stated
how happy he is to be a part of the
Hewlett Eat Rockaway Jewish Centre
community and he thanked his staff
for making that possible
It made me realize that I am fortunate
to have been an integral part of
the many communities comprised at HERJC for the past
twenty years. The support you get from belonging to a
community of people and the strength of spirit personally
gained by doing so, are just a few of the benefits of
communal participation.
Hewlett East Rockaway Jewish Centre has provided
me with the warmth and comfort of being nestled in the
hands of people who care and take the time to reach out.
I have been surrounded and embraced by communities
of people who reached out to me during my personal,
spiritual and professional journey. With Thanksgiving
approaching, it seems appropriate to take time to give
thanks and gratitude to the different HERJC communities
I have been fortunate to have been involved in.
Many years ago at a parent orientation, I told a story
that would reflect the depth of what the Rabbi shared
with his staff. The story was called, “A Sense of a
Goose.” Although we are incredibly burdened by this
vast growing, pesky population of birds, there is much
to be learned from them and their sense of community.
“When you see geese flying along in a “V” formation,
you might consider what science has discovered as to
why they fly that way. As each bird flaps its wings, it
creates an uplift for the bird immediately following. By
flying in “V” formation, the whole flock adds at least
71% greater flying range than if each bird flew on its
own. When a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly
feels the drag and resistance of trying to go it alone —
and quickly gets back into formation to take advantage
of the lifting power of the bird in front. When the head
goose gets tired, it rotates back in the wing and another
goose flies point. Geese honk from behind to encourage
those up front to keep up their speed. Finally — and this
is important — when a goose gets sick or is wounded by
gunshot, and falls out of formation, two other geese fall
out with their goose and follow it down to lend help and
protection. They stay with the fallen goose until it is able
to fly or until it dies, and only then do they launch out
on their own, or with another formation to catch up
with their group.”
I tell this story because I have learned much from the
many communities of people who comprise HERJC and
whom I have been so fortunate to be a part of. First, I
belong to a community of educators who have lovingly
worked with hundreds of children and their families
through the years. While leaving imprints on children’s
lives, our philosophy has never wavered. I have learned
that as a community of staff, (including the office and
the maintenance staff as well) we have had as much
sense as a goose, as we stayed in formation with each
other and headed in the right philosophical direction of
early childhood education. This community of educators
has my deepest gratitude as we share common
direction and travel on the thrust of one another. Each
educator helps one another to become better at their
daily responsibility and skill of working with young
children—children who depend on us to be knowledgeable
and understanding of their developmental needs.
I have also been a part of a congregational community
who has supported my effort to direct a pre-school
of excellence. The backing of my colleagues, countless
past presidents, hundreds of board members and an
active Board of Education deserve my gratitude for
allowing my staff and me to embrace and educate young
families, both Jewish and non-Jewish, in the surrounding
towns of HERJC. Many times through the years, our
staff needed help to ease the incredible responsibility of caring for so many families and
children. This is similar to the head goose who, when it gets tired, rotates back in the
wing to let another goose fly point. In such a demanding job, it makes sense to take
turns and allow others to lead the way. Much of what was suggested to us by former
Presidents, boards and congregants, allowed us to step back and regard another person
or group of people taking lead.
I couldn’t do my work as successfully as I have without the help of the community
of women who have comprised my parent association through the years. Each year I
rely on the help of women to not only fundraise for our school, but bridge the gap of
three communities that comprise our school—the families, the teachers and the children.
The parent association in recent years has also done an incredible job of bringing
families closer to the many sensational events our synagogue is known for.
I could not write this article without mentioning the valued community of the morning
minyan, a group I became part of after the deaths of both my brother and my father.
I was completely overwhelmed by the numbers of congregants who wrote letters of
condolence, made visits to my home during the shiva period, held my hand during the
prayer service each morning and allowed me the time to grieve for my great loss.
During these untimely deaths, I, like the goose, fell out of formation, and needed the
help and protection of a community that would so generously give up their time and
stay with me until I could fly again.
Yes, as the Rabbi mentioned during the staff meeting, I too, can’t wait to run back to
the varied communities of HERJC after I am off work for holidays and vacations. The
HERJC communities, similar to the geese community have allowed me to get to where
I am going in life more quickly and easily because I am traveling on the thrust of so
many people who have truly enriched my life.
May all of you have the most wonderfully thankful Thanksgiving.
Pizza in the Super Sukkah
Thank You to the Greenberg Family and the Susser Family Trust, HERJC is now the
proud owner of a super size Sukkah, which our Nursery School and Building Block families
got to enjoy — until the down pouring of rain, which forced the whole event to
move inside but didn’t put a damper on anyone’s spirits! More than 200 people showed
up to celebrate the joy of Sukkot and share a pizza dinner!
Meet The Candidates Night at HERJC
We were proud to host Hon. Carolyn McCarthy, Francis Becker and Frank Scaturro as they discussed issues of Jewish
HERJC Circle Of Life
using wills or Trusts to donate to your synagogue
In the Spring of 1949, a handful of people met in the basement of a
home on Talfor Road sharing a vision for a community where their
children could learn the heritage of their faith, study its language and
observances; where they themselves could worship on Shabbat and
the High Holy Days and observe Yahrzeits and other life cycle events.
Here we are, more than 60 years later, proud members of a wonderful,
warm, egalitarian, Conservative synagogue, whose mission is to
provide innovative, interesting, and thought-provoking programs
that:
• Foster lifelong learning from pre-school through adulthood
• Celebrate our Jewish heritage
• Deepen our sense of community
• Promote religious involvement & enhanced spiritual experiences
• Nurture the state of Israel and our relationship with it
Those who came before us left a legacy that continues to
nurture us and our children. Now it is our turn to provide for the
needs of the generations yet to come.
All Planned Gifts carry membership into the HERJC Circle of Life
with the following benefits:
• A distinctive HERJC Circle of Life certificate suitable for framing
• Recognition in Hakol and various published materials
• A hand crafted silver and gold Circle of Life pin or necklace
made exclusively for us by renowned Judaica artist, Neil Meixler.
• Listing on Circle of Life display at the synagogue
• Naming opportunities for large bequests
eligious school
DAVID WOOLFE
As long as I have been involved in Jewish education (by now, a very
long time!), I have resisted the notion that our afternoon education
programs are “Hebrew schools.” They are not. They are Religious
Schools. That is, our goal is to teach, reinforce and engage our students
in the wonder of Jewish learning and practice — prayer, holidays
and history, Biblical narrative, heroes, community, and world
influence. Learning Hebrew is, of course, an important component
to realizing that goal. But we don’t teach Hebrew. Not as a language.
We do not devote hours to verb structures, vocabulary, pronouns,
adjectives, or tense. No. What we teach primarily is Hebrew decoding, the ability to
look at Hebrew characters and to read the sounds correctly.
As I have noted before, Hebrew decoding is a gateway skill in Judaism. It opens up
the ability to participate in our rituals and prayer services, which are fundamental to
our sense of community. It is important. And, happily, Hebrew decoding is actually a
very easy skill to acquire. Why? Because Hebrew letters and vowels are always consistent.
A gimel is always pronounced as a gimel, that is a “g” sound; a zayim is always
pronounced as a zayin, a “z” sound, and so on.
Hebrew vowels never change. If you can read a segol
(three dots, triangular shape) one time, you can read
“with prayer
proficiency our
sons and daughters
really can go
anywhere in the
world, walk into
a synagogue and
feel at home.
”
it correctly every time.
How much simpler than English! Think of words
like “garage” or “circus” where the same letter represents
different sounds in the very same word! Oy!
Think of English vowels, where you have long vowels,
short vowels, vowels that sound different in different
words, and even in different parts of words.
Once again, I say, Oy!
I would argue that anyone who can learn to read
(decode) English can learn to read (decode) Hebrew
with just a trifling amount of effort. Which raises the question, Why do students so
often struggle with Hebrew? Yes, it is a new “cast of characters” but as I’ve noted, once
you know the cast, they remain consistent. And learning the characters is generally
accomplished in our earliest grades. The rub, to get all Shakespearean, is in that “trifling
amount of effort”.
In the coming weeks, we will be assessing our students Hebrew skills and placing
them in appropriate reading groups to become more and more proficient Hebrew readers.
Parents can help. All it takes is a bit of interest and willingness to listen to your
child practice a few moments each night. Five minutes. Even if you can’t read Hebrew
yourself (we can help you learn if you’re interested!) just creating the time when your
child puts in the effort will pay enormous dividends.
With Hebrew reading skills comes prayer proficiency. With prayer proficiency, our
sons and daughters really can go anywhere in the world, walk into a synagogue and feel
at home. Which is where they belong — feeling at home in Jewish worship and every
other aspect of our wonderful tradition.
Time sure does fly when you’re having fun! Can you believe it is
already time to start planning for the summer? A USY Summer program
promises a very special experience for your child. While having
fun exploring new cities and/or countries, these travelers are
learning about their Jewish heritage without even realizing it! I have
never met a USY’er who didn’t absolutely love their trip. They all
come back talking about the tremendous amount learned and fabulous
friendships made. Here’s a sample of what’s available:
Spain/Israel: Visit Madrid, Granada and Cordoba while exploring
the Jewish heritage of Spain. Learn about the Jewish “Golden Age” via philosophers,
commentators, writers and poets and then onto five weeks in Israel. Etgar Outdoor
Adventure: Five weeks in Israel with the emphasis on hiking, camping, and the mitzvot
of volunteer work. Eastern Europe/Israel: Visit Hungary, the Czech Republic, and
Poland, followed by four weeks in Israel. Poland Pilgrimage: A week in Poland visiting
concentration camps such as Sobibor, Majdanek, Auschwitez/ Birkenau, and Treblinka
and the Warsaw Ghetto area, followed by five weeks in Israel.
There are also trips around America and locally, such as: USY on Wheels: Travel
America and see what this country has to offer! USY on Wheels/Mission Mitzvah: This six
week trip starts in Chicago and goes west. One third of the time is spent doing some
social action projects. USY Outdoor Adventure: Four weeks of camping throughout the
Pacific Northwest while hiking and kayaking in places like Mount Rainer National
Park, Mount St. Helens and many others. USY on Wheels/East: Especially designed for
eight graders, this trip goes up and down the East Coast and visits places such as
Disney World, the Kennedy Space Center, Virginia Beach and much more! USY Summer
in the City: Four weeks in New York City, sightseeing, volunteering and taking classes
at Columbia, JTS, and Barnard.
This is a just a sampling. Space is limited so get your information early and avoid
being shut out. If your child has questions about this summer adventures, come and
hear what our former HERJC USY’ers experienced and felt after attending this programs.
We are one of the fortunate chapters that have had USY’ers attend each and
every one of the trips mentioned here.
For complete information on any of these trips, call Todd at 516-599-1148. And
please remember, it’s never too late to join Youth Group. Just give us a try.
