• Volt meter ○ Normal = 12.5 to 15 volts • Amps ○ 0 to slightly on the positive (+) side is best • Oil pressure gauge ○ Normal = 20 to 75 psi, warning at 10 psi • Transmission Temperature ○ 140 to 220 degrees, warning light at 220 degrees, maximum 330 degrees with extensive transmission retarder use. Will fluctuate allot while driving • Water / Engine temperature gauge ○ Normal = 180 to 210 degrees, warning light at 217 degrees
Tachometer / accelerator pedal • Rev engine • Ensure they operate properly and smoothly • No sticking of needle or pedal Lights • Turn on headlights • Check dash lights • Check High Beam indicator • Verbalize , “I know where the switches are , so when it is dark , I will not be searching for them” Emergency lights • Turn on Master Switch and check lights
