Holy Spirit Mom’s Group is a new fellowship
opportunity for women of the parish with
pre-school aged and younger children.
We meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every
month in the Parish Hall and visit the elderly of
Soddy Daisy Health Care Center monthly.

SVDP & Pregnancy Help Center—Please put
onesies thru 24 mos., shoes/socks (all sizes), bottles,
pacifiers, bibs, blankets, baby toiletries, and
books on parenting as well as for babies/young
children. Good Start Formula (any), rice or oatmeal
cereal, jars of baby food in the blue tubs in
the Narthex and outside the parish office.
Please continue to place unused hotel toiletries
for the homeless in the blue tub in the Narthex.
The Holy Spirit Harvest Mart is coming!
Showcase your talents and sell items. The event
is scheduled for November 10th as a fundraiser
for SVDP. Not only can YOU make some
money, but hopefully be able to donate 10% of
the day’s profits to SVDP. Start making/
preparing those craft items now and take advantage
of the opportunity to share your expertise
with others. If other ministries would like to

Tap Into Something More: Renew International’s
Theology on Tap on Sunday night,
March 11, 18 and 25 at Hennen’s Restaurant
Downtown. Park in the garage and bring in
your ticket and they will validate it. This is for
young adults ages 18-39, single and married that
are curious about the Catholic Faith. There is no
cover charge, but food and drinks are on your
own. The topic will be Devotion to Mary-How

Spousal Loss Retreat-Separated, Divorced or

Second Sunday of Lent-According to tradition
the “Transfiguration” took place on top of
Mount Tabor, a craggy, cone shaped mountain
across the lush Jezreel Valley from both Nazareth
and Cana. Jesus is with three of his friends
when they see him appear quite different and
standing with Elijah, the great prophet, and
Moses, the great lawgiver. From the clouds they
hear a voice proclaim “This is my beloved son,
listen to him.” God was telling Peter, James and
John, and He is telling us, to get to know Jesus.
Learn all you can about him so you can imitate
him. Learn about him now so when the opportunity
presents itself, you can be like Jesus without
hesitation. Earlier, at a wedding feast in
Cana, Mary told servants to “Do whatever He
tells you.” The message from both the earthly
mother of Jesus and his Heavenly Father is very
simple: “Listen to Him!” and “Do whatever he
tells you!”
Confirmation Student of the Week
Confirmation Student of the week is Tiffany Closson.
Tiffany is the daughter of Chris and Denise
Closson. She is a freshman at Soddy Daisy High
School. Tiffany is a member of the Soddy Daisy
Trojan Marching band. Tiffany and her family
usually attend the 8:00 A.M. Mass. She is interested
in design as well as music. Tiffany also
volunteers her time each summer with the Vacation
Bible School program here at Holy Spirit. Tiffany
has chosen St. Bernadette as her Confirmation
name.
BAPTISM
Parents wishing to have their children baptized are
asked to call the office to make an appointment with
Msgr. Al. A Baptismal preparation class is required.
FIRST COMMUNION
Children are prepared through our CCD program.

RECONCILIATION
Confessions are regularly scheduled for each
Saturday evening at 4:45 P.M. to 5:15 P.M.
Also by appointment anytime.
CONFIRMATION
Confirmation is celebrated every two years. You
must be a high school student to participate. For
more information contact the Church office

R.C.I.A.
Adults wishing to find out more about the Catholic
Church should do so by joining the Rite of Christian
Initiation of Adults. RCIA meets every Tuesday at
6:45 P.M., September through Easter. For
information call Linda Frantz 451-0248.
