Behind the Scenes
Did You Know?
Microsoft developers and researchers
created TrueColor Technology to
enhance color and brightness during
video calls. With a combination of
software and firmware TrueColor helps
ensure each video looks bright and
colorful in virtually any lighting
situation.
Ask Todd
Microsoft developer Todd Schoepflin
worked to create TrueColor
Technology and is available for
interviews if you’d like to hear more
about the new technology.
See the Difference
TrueColor Technology
Microsoft’s new image processing technology, TrueColor, provides superior color and brightness in almost all lighting
conditions, including low light and backlight. TrueColor Technology sets the correct balance of brightness to help ensure
the user’s face is not overexposed or underexposed in a variety of environments — from out on the porch with bright
sunshine in the morning to the living room with low light in the evening. It does this through a carefully designed
proprietary combination of software and firmware to deliver a great experience.
With TrueColor
With more and more people recording and sharing personal videos with friends and family, widescreen video is a musthave
for today’s webcams. Not only does widescreen video fit better with newer widescreen displays, it enables multiple
chat participants to comfortably fit in the field of view.
