12 WATERFALL<br />

12.1 INTRODUCTION<br />

The Waterfall post processing routines give <strong>CLIOwin</strong> the possibility of making 3-D plots<br />

adding a third dimension (usually time) to classical amplitude-frequency graphs.<br />

<strong>CLIOwin</strong> permits the following 3-D types of waterfall:<br />

- Cumulative spectral decay (CSD)<br />

- Energy Time Frequency (ETF)<br />

- File display (used for polar representation)<br />

12.2 WATERFALL CONTROL PANEL<br />

12.2.1 TOOLBAR BUTTONS<br />

Starts a waterfall calculation.<br />

Enters the Waterfall settings dialog. See 12.2.1.<br />

Expands the waterfall display changing its Y scale. Three ranges are available 20,<br />

40 and 80dB.<br />

Compresses the waterfall display changing its Y scale. Three ranges are available<br />

20, 40 and 80dB.<br />

Enters the Marker mode (see Fig. 12.5). In this operating mode it is possible to<br />

inspect the single data points of each waterfall slice clicking and dragging the mouse.<br />

When in marker mode, moves the selected waterfall slice backwards. The same<br />

action is obtained with the Up-Arrow keyboard shortcut.<br />

When in marker mode, moves the selected waterfall slice frontwards. The same<br />

action is obtained with the Down-Arrow keyboard shortcut.<br />
