The standards are split into the areas of information governance management, confidentiality
& data protection assurance, information security assurance, clinical information assurance,
secondary use assurance and corporate information assurance. As such the standard
owners have been allocated reflecting their knowledge and skill set in the subjects, to ensure
both an understanding of the requirements and an ability to achieve these.
To make sure adequate progress is being made with all standards, all standard owners will
be presenting their individual action plans at the September 2012 IGSG. This will highlight
any potential barriers to achieving the level 2 required, which as appropriate will be fed
through to the Trust Board.
In addition, recommendations from the 2011/12 internal audit of 20 IG Toolkit standards
received in August 2012 will be developed into an action plan agreed with the Executive
Director of Planning and Performance. Where appropriate, these will then be incorporated
into the individual standard action plans to ensure compliance.
The over-arching IG action plan (see below) continues to be reviewed at the IGSG, and in
co-ordination with the individual standard action plans there is the potential to achieve at
least 73% compliance rate by the final return on 31 st July 2013.
