Admin& Clerical: Approximately 30% of the A&C workforce spend relates to bank and
agency. There has been an improvement of £
Medical Efficiency: The Job planning process has commenced with CDs arranging
formal meetings with Consultants and Managers. Completion of 1st level sign off
November 2012 with final JPA sign off December 2012. Directorates agreeing bank and
agency spend in line with budgets. Benchmarking with pan-London Bank rates being
undertaken.
Allied Health Professionals: There is a cost pressure of circa £300k relating to length
of Stay. On-call payment analysis is underway. Further investigation of opportunities for
CIPs in pharmacy production.
Workforce Reduction: In terms of established vacancies throughout the Trust, a
reduction of 30 vacancies has attracted savings. A further 14 vacancies identified and
associated savings are anticipated by December 2012. The Head of Workforce
Transformation has established a project plan for further potential vacancies where
savings are anticipated at the end of this financial year. Agreement was reached at the
Transformation Board to take forward a 3 year pay protection policy to the Joint Staff
Committee for ratification. PAUL
Beds & Length of Stay – Bed Reduction: A further saving of equivalent costs for 30
beds in year is required to achieve the CIP. Plans are currently being worked up with
options to provide ‘winter’ contingency beds.
