UNIFORM CODE
This uniform is COMPULSORY for Years 9, 10, 11 and 12 students at Melville High School.
All Year 13 students are able to wear mufti in accordance with the Senior Dress Code.
All Melville High School regulation uniform items, except shoes, are available for purchase
from the Student Services Centre during school hours. Students are only permitted to wear
clothing outlined in this uniform code.

YEAR 9 AND 10 Regulation (from 2012)
YEAR 11 – 13
Plain shirt & black shorts
Regulation plain black. No other coloured markings. Lace up shoes
must have black laces.
Black sandals only, must have back heel strap. No jandals/boots.
A plain white long sleeved top/skivvy only may be worn under
regulation polo top or blouse.
Wristwatch, plain ear studs/sleepers in ears only. No other jewellery.
Special taonga/cross must not be visible. No visible piercings.
No bracelets.
Male students must be clean shaven. Hair should be clean and tidy.
No extreme hairstyle/colour – Principal’s discretion. Hair accessories
to be plain school colours.
Plain black cap only. No beanies.
Plain white, green or black. Multi-coloured scarves are not allowed.
Students may not wear make-up to school.
The wearing of the correct uniform is the responsibility of students and their families.
When students wear inappropriate items to school parents/caregivers will be invited to
bring the correct uniform item to school or to uplift the student and return them correctly
attired.
Non regulation items may be confiscated and stored at the Students Services Centre to
be uplifted by parents. While reasonable care will be undertaken no responsibility will be
accepted.

Special Orders
It is our policy to accommodate all students into correct uniform. Our standard stock sizes are
usually Small – XXL. If your child requires sizing beyond our standard stock, a special fitting will be
required and an additional fee will be necessary.
