Curriculum is available to all clinicians
• 250 clinicians have received the Certified Co-
Occurring Disorders Professional Credential since
May of 2004
• GAF scores increased by 85% for individuals
receiving integrated treatment
• There was a 75% reduction in substance use for
individuals
• 15% of the individuals in the project were selfreferred
• Need for housing supports, & other lessons
learned….
Problems Encountered
• Difficulty following up prospectively on cohorts
once they leave treatment
• Coordination of care difficult when SA and MH
providers are in different locations and have
conflicting regulations
• Communication across counties sometimes
difficult- COD services not always in same county
• Lack of common definitions for data elements
across systems
