COSIG Project Director Pennsylvania COSIG Conference May 15, 2006 Background Arkansas COSIG Goals Arkansas, like so many other states, has provided services to individuals with cooccurring disorders in two separate silos. • Develop and implement screening and assessment protocols that identify individuals with cooccurring disorders which are acceptable to both mental health and substance abuse treatment communities. • Develop a training program for mental health and substance abuse providers in the use of these protocols and on the needs of and services available to those with co‐occurring disorders (COD). 1
