Let’s wrap!
• Wear the mitzvot as “a sign upon your arm and as
a reminder between your eyes”! Bring in an old
mezuzah and tallit and have them checked.
Jewish book swap
• Got an old Jewish book you’re tired of reading?
Bring it to the fair and trade it in for a fresh supply
of Jewish learning and entertainment!
• Sign up with PJ Library and receive free Jewish
children’s books delivered to your doorstep
each month!
Easy ways to green our world
• Drop off old eye glasses, batteries, cell phones,
ink cartridges for recycling!
• Save trees! Register to stop junk mail!
• Bring in old prayerbooks and other sacred texts
for proper disposal.
Save lives with HERJC
• Donate your organs! Yes, it’s a mitzvah!
• Sign up to donate blood at our spring blood drive.
• Sign up to learn CPR.
• Painlessly register with Gift of Life to donate
lifesaving Bone Marrow!
HERJC tots and their families help the
less fortunate
• Make scarves to bring warmth to the poor!
• If your little ones are older, donate your leftover
diapers to growing families in need.
• Donate used, clean T-shirts!
HERJC Cares about our community
• Take the Tzedakah Challenge. Learn how you can
comfort the sick and aid the needy.
Israel Action Committee
• Learn how you make a difference for Israel here
in New York and also as a volunteer in Israel.
Honor parents by honoring the name
they gave you!
• Make mom and dad proud by learning about the
Hebrew name they chose for you! Receive a
certificate WITH YOUR NAME ON IT!
Practices of the Spirit
• Learn a variety of spiritual skills and practices like
lighting Shabbat candles, reciting Havdalah, how
to start keeping kosher, and how to use a mikvah.
• Enjoy a selection of healthy snacks and their
proper blessings.
• Learn about HERJC’s daily minyan!
Cemetery relief and honoring the dead
• Join representatives from the Hebrew Free Burial
Association and the Community Association
for Jewish At-Risk Cemeteries
