Cook<strong>in</strong>g functions<br />

<strong>Miele</strong>’s XL oven offers a wide range of<br />

standard cook<strong>in</strong>g functions for bak<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

roast<strong>in</strong>g and grill<strong>in</strong>g as well as some<br />

special ones for prov<strong>in</strong>g dough, dry<strong>in</strong>g fruit<br />

and herbs and defrost<strong>in</strong>g food. Over and<br />

above <strong>the</strong>se functions <strong>Miele</strong>’s XL oven also<br />

offers a wide range of weight controlled<br />

MasterChef programmes as well as a<br />

Favourites function for stor<strong>in</strong>g your own<br />

frequently used cook<strong>in</strong>g processes.<br />

With <strong>Miele</strong>’s fan based cook<strong>in</strong>g functions<br />

a pressurised convection system heats<br />

<strong>the</strong> air <strong>in</strong> a rear chamber and <strong>the</strong>n quickly<br />

circulates it throughout <strong>the</strong> oven cavity,<br />

creat<strong>in</strong>g uniform temperatures on every<br />

level of <strong>the</strong> oven. This superior technology<br />

not only reduces cook<strong>in</strong>g times but also<br />

prevents flavour transfer enabl<strong>in</strong>g several<br />

shelf levels to be used at <strong>the</strong> same time for<br />

different types of food.<br />

Bak<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Bake – This function heats food from<br />

below and is ideal for ready meals and<br />

baked apples.<br />

Fan plus – This function uses <strong>the</strong> fan to<br />

circulate hot air throughout <strong>the</strong> oven for<br />

even bak<strong>in</strong>g of a wide range of foods from<br />

cookies and cakes to baked potatoes and<br />

cheesecake.<br />

Conventional – With this function both<br />

<strong>the</strong> top and <strong>the</strong> bottom heat<strong>in</strong>g elements<br />

are used for bak<strong>in</strong>g a wide range of foods<br />

without <strong>the</strong> fan.<br />

Brown<strong>in</strong>g – As its name suggests this<br />

function uses heat from <strong>the</strong> top element<br />

and is ideal for melt<strong>in</strong>g a cheese topp<strong>in</strong>g<br />

or brown<strong>in</strong>g a mer<strong>in</strong>gue.<br />

Intensive Bake – This function uses a<br />

comb<strong>in</strong>ation of Fan plus and Bottom heat to<br />

cook dishes which require <strong>the</strong> topp<strong>in</strong>g to be<br />

moist and <strong>the</strong> base to be crisp, such as pizza<br />

or quiche lorra<strong>in</strong>e. The convection system<br />

provides <strong>in</strong>tensive heat from several<br />

directions yield<strong>in</strong>g brick oven results.<br />
