Features and benefits Design flexibility Miele offer a flexible range of XL appliances with a single oven as well as a food warming drawer and the option of fitting a microwave combination oven, a steam oven, or a coffee machine above it in a 45 cm niche using the appropriate building-in frame to match the oven. Miele’s XL range features a stainless steel bowed handle as standard. Should these appliances be installed in a vertical combination with a microwave combination oven or a steam oven we would recommend changing the handles on the oven and the drawer to ensure a perfect design match. Please discuss this option with your MCA Dealer. Cleaning and care Despite their size Miele’s XL appliances are easy to look after and keep clean. With flush controls and CleanSteel framed glazed doors a simple wipe with a damp cloth or a Miele E-cloth is all that’s required to keep your appliances looking great. And for those instances where a little more help is needed Miele offer a range of cleaning and conditioning agents. Inside the story just gets better. PerfectClean enamelled accessories The grill pan, anti-splash tray and rack have been treated with a special type of enamel that is easy to keep clean and that has very good anti-stick properties. Pyrolytic enamel interior The internal cavity of the oven and the side runners are coated with a very tough pyrolytic enamel that has very good anti-stick properties making it easy to keep clean with very little effort. Thermo Clean pyrolytic cleaning Miele’s unique pyrolytic cleaning system has an integrated catalytic converter to reduce odours and emissions. The temperature rises to just over 480°C which oxidises soiling, turning it into a light ash which can be simply wiped away. It also assesses the level of soiling in the oven and then the electronics use this information to determine how long the cleaning process should last, before automatically switching it off. For complete safety, the oven door locks automatically when this mode is selected. 24
Navitronic touch controls The XL oven features a multi-lingual LCD display and intuitive Navitronic sensor TouchControls on glass which are very easy to use and look after. With a wide range of cooking functions, including user defined favourites and pre-programmed MasterChef functions, this oven caters for everyone from the novice to the Professional chef. Halogen lights Miele’s side-mounted halogen lighting shines bright white light throughout the oven cavity. The side position prevents trays from blocking the light, clearly illuminating every level of the oven, even when the trays are in place. Temperature settings For simplicity of use Miele's XL oven offers pre-set recommended temperatures for cooking functions. This recommended temperature is easily changed using the numerical keypad should you choose to use a different one. For added peace of mind an electronic precision thermistor accurately controls the temperature inside the oven. This device can detect minute temperature changes enabling the Navitronic controls to adjust the oven temperature automatically to assure you of excellent results every time you use the oven. CleanSteel Miele’s stainless steel ovens have been given a special new finish that is resistant to fingerprints and soiling. Simply wipe with a damp cloth for exceptionally low maintenance. Safety shut-off If the oven is left on by mistake it will switch itself off automatically after a maximum operating time. Door contact switch The heating elements and fan switch off automatically if the door is opened during use. System lock The system lock can be activated to ensure that oven settings are not accidentally activated by children. 25
