Habitat Change
11.6.34 During the construction of the proposed wind farm infrastructure, habitats may undergo
change due to soil disturbance where soils are excavated and subsequently restored, such
as around turbine bases or to create road batters. Areas where temporary construction
works are proposed, such as in laydown areas, will also undergo some degree of temporary
disturbance to habitats. As the habitats on site are dominated by commercial forestry, it
should be taken into account that these habitats are already heavily modified from the
natural state. Table 11.21 below shows the areas of calculated habitat change taken into
account in this assessment.
