Italian 258<br />

A medium to large <strong>fig</strong> from the Prusch collection in San Jose,<br />

California, with a bluish skin color and a solid dark red pulp.<br />

Produces a drop of resin blocking the ostiole which keeps insects<br />

out. A heavy bearer, excellent flavor and sweet, it ripes in cooler fall<br />

climate.<br />
