Jesse Woolrich off to Japan with the APT
Jesse Woolrich will finally get to meet his team
mates for the first time when they arrive in
Cairns for the first leg of their bi annual trip to
Japan.
Queensland has not entered a team in the
Provincial Cup for the last 4 years which has
made it difficult for our players to be noticed.
Jesse was first identified by Coach Allan Parrott
when he was on a recent business trip to Cairns
and now Jesse gets the opportunity to prove the
faith shown in him by coach Parrott.

Australian Provincial Team in Cairns Before
They Head To Japan
The Australian Provincial Baseball Team arrives in town on the
night of the 18 th of May, for a fly in fly out visit/training session
and coaching clinic. The team plan to take two training sessions
before conducting a clinic for junior players. The team will take
B.P in the morning (11.30am to 1.00pm), followed by a lunch
break then fielding drills / pitching drills (2.00pm to 4.00pm).
A training clinic for junior players, approx age 12-19, will be
conducted from 4.30pm to 6.15pm.
This will be followed by a barbeque at the ground for all the
players, kids and parents starting at 7.00pm.
The team will leave for the airport at 8.45pm to catch their flight
to Guam. .
Little League Trials to Be Held At the Trinity
Beach Facility
This year’s Little League trials will be held at the Trinity Beach
Facility, Saturday 5 th of February from 10.00am to 3.00pm.
Head Coach Darryl Turner said the team would be made up of
players from Cairns and Townsville and will represent North
Queensland at the Easter Weekend tournament at a
destination yet to be decided. Coach Turner said that he is still
looking for an assistant coach, or anyone willing to help out
with on field sessions once training schedules have been
finalized.

A Sample of the Junior Come & Try Day Flyer
The Cairns version of this flyer will be distributed to schools by the
BQI Development Officers during their visits from February 7-11 in
preparation for the Come & Try Sign-On Day on February12, 2011.
Peninsula Trials at Trinity Beach
A reminder to all eligible baseballers that there will be Peninsula
School Baseball Trials held this year at the Trinity Beach Facility.
These will be conducted on Tuesday 8 th of March, 2011.
