Dear Members and Guests,
Every child wants a Dad he or she can look up to, maybe set on his lap,
share the day with him and just know he will be there when we need
him. I was privileged growing up to have a wonderful Dad. When my
Daddy passed away in 1982, it was a very heart-breaking, sad day. He
is no longer there for me to visit on Father's Day, but I thank the Lord
that I was privileged to be able to "know" him for 24 years. I also have
many memories of the days spent with my Dad to last me a lifetime.
Do you want to make your Dad's eyes light up with joy on this Father's
Day? I would venture to say, from experience, that a gift is not always
what a parent looks for from a child. They want your love, a visit or
maybe a phone call if you aren't where you can be there on that special
day. Why not take time out this Father's Day to call your Dad or go to
see him and put a sparkle in his eyes? You will be glad you did in years
to come when Dad is no longer there in your presence.
We also have a heavenly Father who is there regardless of whether we
have our natural father in our lives or not. He will never leave nor
forsake us in our time of need. Praise God that we have a heavenly
Father who is always there for us, never judges us, and loves us more
than anyone.

Church Development Fund
The Fulfilling God’s Vision (FGV) campaign was established to help finance
and build our new church facility. As such, FGV was an essential part of our
church budget. Now that our church is built, our focus turns to equipping our new
building with the infrastructure needed to enhance our worship services, our church
programs, our meetings, and other activities. The Church Development Fund
(CDF) will supplement all of our other giving and provide the needed resources to
help us meet our 2010 budget expectations. We are currently highlighting a special
CDF offering on first Sundays, but you may contribute on any Sunday (or at any
time).
Since the beginning of 2010 we have seen a decline in CDF contributions, well
below 2010 budget expectations. We humbly ask that you continue to include the
Church Development Fund in your church giving.
May God continue to shower us with His blessing.

ATTENTION ST JOHN 2010 HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES AND PARENTS
The William L. and Victorine Q. Adams Foundation has announced that it will fund
one or more St John 2010 high school graduates who have been admitted to a fouryear
college or university this coming fall 2010 term. Basic criteria include being a
US citizen, a member of St John for at least one year prior to July 15, 2010, have a 3.0
high school GPA, majoring in business, mathematics, engineering, computer science,
physical science, biology or chemistry, and have a gap in funding after subtracting
expenses (uses) from available funds (sources). A document explaining all criteria
and application procedures can be picked up at the church information booth. More
information about the Adams Foundation can be found at
scholarship@adamsfound.org or by calling the Scholarship Coordinator at 410-783-
3216. The deadline for applications for Fall Term 2010 is July 15 th .
