Junior School (Grades 1-5)
A good start in education is essential in the building of a strong and enduring foundation
for a bright and successful future. Raffles International School believes that parents play
a fundamental role in the education of children in their formative years; our curriculum
incorporates the partnership of parents through a system of reporting where information
is given to parents on the progress of their children on a regular basis.
This approach is useful for parents and effective for children. After all, children can
succeed if they are motivated, confident and encouraged and parents can actively take a
part in this partnership with Raffles.
At Raffles, the concern, care and love for each young child takes center stage at all times.
There are two Junior School curriculums offered at Raffles. One being the Cambridge
Primary (CP) at the South Campus and the other being the IB Primary Years Programme
(PYP) at the West Campus.
West Campus – IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)*
The Primary Years Programme is an inquiry-based programme which focuses on the
comprehensive development of a child, addressing social, physical emotional and cultural needs.
*IB PYP candidate school. Only schools authorised by the
International Baccalaureate can offer any of its programmes.
Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorisation will be granted.
South Campus – Cambridge Primary (CP)
Cambridge Primary (CP) develops the English,
Mathematics and Science skills and knowledge of
young children helping them become independent
lifelong learners, creative thinkers and problem
solvers.
